TL;DR: Judge.me is the best Shopify review app for most stores. Its free plan has unlimited photo and video reviews, and the paid plan is a flat $15 a month. Pick Loox for photo-led brands, Okendo or Yotpo for scaling brands, and REVIEWS.io for the cheapest route to Google Seller Ratings at $19 a month. Paid plans run from $9 to $399 a month. Before you pay, check the pricing unit: orders, review invites, or flat.

Picking a review app looks easy. Every listing shows a 4.7 to 5.0 rating and a free plan. The trouble starts when your store grows and the bill jumps.
Reviews matter a lot. The Medill Spiegel Research Center found that a product with five reviews is 270% more likely to be bought than one with none. That study was first published in 2017 and is still the most cited work on this topic.
Shopify no longer gives you a built-in option. A Shopify staff member confirmed that the free Shopify Product Reviews app was delisted on September 5, 2023. So you need a third-party app.
I compared 10 review apps on what each one charges for (orders, review invites, or a flat fee), what each costs at 300, 1,000, and 3,000 orders a month, photo and video support, and Google star requirements. I checked every plan and price on the Shopify App Store on November 1, 2026.
Reviews are one piece of your app stack, so see my full guide to the best Shopify apps for growing stores for the rest.

How Much Do Shopify Review Apps Cost?
Most Shopify review apps cost $0 to $119 a month for small and mid-size stores, and up to $399 a month at high volume. The real price depends on the pricing unit. Judge.me, Junip, and CWILL charge a flat fee. Loox, Okendo, Stamped, and Fera charge by orders. REVIEWS.io charges by review invites.
Here is every plan as listed on the Shopify App Store. All prices are in USD and billed every 30 days unless an annual price is shown.
| App | Plan | Price | Limit (pricing unit) | Key features at this tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Judge.me | Forever Free | $0 | Unlimited reviews | Photo and video reviews, rich snippets, importer |
| Judge.me | Awesome | $15/month | Flat fee | Google Shopping, Q&A, reminders, AI replies, 130+ integrations |
| Loox | Free | $0 | Up to 500 orders | Request emails, photo reviews, rich snippets |
| Loox | Convert | $49.99/month | 300 orders, then $50 per extra 300 | Video reviews, Google, Meta, TikTok syndication |
| Loox | Unlimited | $299.99/month | Unlimited orders | All features, priority support |
| Okendo | Free | $0 | Up to 50 orders/month | Request emails, Google SEO snippets, moderation |
| Okendo | Essential | $19/month or $204/year | Up to 200 orders/month | Everything in Free |
| Okendo | Growth | $119/month or $1,308/year | Up to 1,500 orders/month | AI summaries, Q&A, TikTok Shop |
| Okendo | Power | $299/month or $3,288/year | Up to 3,500 orders/month | Campaigns, email and SMS integrations, reporting |

| REVIEWS.io | Free | $0 | 25 review invites/month | Product and company reviews, photo and video |
| REVIEWS.io | Launch | $19/month | 50 review invites/month | Google Seller Ratings, rich snippets |
| REVIEWS.io | Launch Plus | $45/month | 500 review invites/month | Surveys, NPS, AI summaries, Q&A |
| Junip | Free / Core | $0 / $29/month | Unlimited orders | Rich snippets; Core adds media requests, incentives |
| Junip | Growth / Premium | $79 / $299/month | Unlimited orders | Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok; Premium adds AI, API |
| Stamped | Four tiers | $23 / $99 / $199 / $399/month | 200 / 1,000 / 5,000 / 20,000 orders/month | Photo and video, Google Shopping sync, rich snippets |
| Fera | Startup / Small | $9 / $29/month | 100 / 1,000 requests; 200 / 2,000 orders | Q&A, AI features, 100MB / 1GB media |

| CWILL (Trustoo) | Essential / Pro | $11.99 / $29.99/month | Unlimited reviews | Google snippet on Essential; video and Google Shopping on Pro |
| Air Reviews | Free | $0 | Not published | Photo reviews, rich snippets, request emails |
Pricing traps to watch:
- Order overages. Loox Convert includes 300 orders. Each extra block of 300 adds $50. A busy month can double your bill.
- Invite caps. REVIEWS.io Launch covers only 50 review invites a month. If you ask every buyer, you will outgrow it fast.
- Google features gated by tier. Yotpo puts Google Seller Rating on Pro at $119 a month, not Starter. Junip puts Google Shopping on Growth at $79.
- Media storage. Fera’s Startup plan includes 100MB of photo and video storage. Video reviews fill that quickly.
- Video locked behind upgrades. Loox video reviews start on Convert. CWILL video collection is on Pro only.
- Separate billing. Yotpo and REVIEWS.io both note that some charges may be billed outside your Shopify invoice.
What each app costs at real order volumes (my estimate, based on listed prices; cheapest plan that covers the volume):
| App | 300 orders/month | 1,000 orders/month | 3,000 orders/month | Math |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Judge.me (Awesome) | $15 | $15 | $15 | Flat fee |
| Junip (Core) | $29 | $29 | $29 | Flat; $79 if you need Google Shopping |
| CWILL (Essential) | $11.99 | $11.99 | $11.99 | Flat; $29.99 for video |
| Fera | $29 | $29 | $99 | Startup caps at 200 orders; Small at 2,000 |
| Stamped | $99 | $99 | $199 | $23 tier caps at 200 orders |
| Okendo | $119 | $119 | $299 | Essential caps at 200; Growth at 1,500 |
| Loox (paid) | $49.99 | $199.99 | $299.99 | $49.99 + 3 x $50 at 1,000; Unlimited beats $499.99 at 3,000 |
| REVIEWS.io | $45 | Not published | Not published | Launch Plus covers 500 invites; higher tiers not listed |
| Yotpo | Varies | Varies | Varies | Listing says price varies with order volume |
The gap is wide. At 1,000 orders a month, Judge.me costs $15 and Loox costs $199.99. That is more than 13 times the price for a similar core job. You may still pick Loox for its photo-first design. Just know what you are paying for.
The 10 Best Shopify Review Apps, Reviewed
1 Judge.me: Best Overall and Best Free Plan
Judge.me is a product and store review app with the biggest following on the Shopify App Store.
What it does well. Judge.me gives away more for free than any other app here. The Forever Free plan includes unlimited product and store reviews, unlimited photo and video reviews, and Google rich snippets. The listing shows a 5.0 rating from 49,401 reviews, and it carries the Built for Shopify badge. When you upgrade, you pay one flat fee no matter how many orders you ship. That makes it the easiest bill to predict on this list.
Key features:
- Unlimited photo and video reviews on the free plan
- Google Shopping, Meta, and TikTok Shop sync on Awesome
- Q&A, reviews page, and 16 widgets on Awesome
- AI replies, summaries, and translations
Pricing. Forever Free costs $0. Awesome costs $15 a month and includes a 15-day free trial. Charges bill every 30 days in USD. See Judge.me pricing.
Best for: You, if you want strong features at a fixed low cost and plan to grow your order count.
Limitations. Judge.me is not on Google’s list of supported store ratings partners. If you want stars on your Google text ads, you will need a listed partner or Google Customer Reviews.
2 Loox: Best for Photo and Video Reviews
Loox is a visual review app built around customer photos and videos.
What it does well. Loox fits brands where the photo sells the product. It offers photo review discounts to nudge buyers to share pictures. It has a 4.9 rating from 10,007 reviews and the Built for Shopify badge. Its free plan can also turn reviews into social posts, which pairs well with the best AI social media management tools. Visual content matters to shoppers. A 2023 PowerReviews survey of U.S. consumers found 53% say customer photos and videos affect whether they buy.
Key features:
- Photo reviews and photo review discounts on the free plan
- Video reviews on Convert and above
- AI smart sorting, highlights, and review stories
- Google, Meta, and TikTok syndication on Convert
Pricing. Free costs $0 for up to 500 orders. Convert costs $49.99 a month for 300 orders, then $50 per extra 300. Unlimited costs $299.99 a month. Paid plans include a 14-day trial. See Loox pricing.
Best for: You, if your products sell on looks and you want the most polished photo galleries.
Limitations. Costs climb fast between 300 and 1,500 orders a month. Many older guides still quote a $9.99 starting price, which is not what the current listing shows.
3 Okendo: Best for Scaling Brands That Want Loyalty Too
Okendo is a customer marketing platform that bundles reviews, loyalty, surveys, quizzes, and referrals.
What it does well. Okendo suits brands that want one vendor for reviews and retention. Its listing describes “5 connected, fully featured apps.” It is also on Google’s list of supported store ratings partners, which Judge.me and Loox are not. That matters if you run Google Ads. It works with Shopify POS, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Postscript, and Walmart.
Key features:
- Smart review form and review rewards engine
- Photo and video review displays
- AI review summaries and keywords on Growth
- Q&A widget and TikTok Shop on Growth
Pricing. Free covers 50 orders a month. Essential costs $19 a month for 200 orders. Growth costs $119 a month for 1,500 orders. Power costs $299 a month for 3,500 orders. Annual billing saves 8% to 11%, and paid plans have a 14-day trial. See Okendo pricing.
Best for: You, if you ship 500 to 3,500 orders a month and want reviews and loyalty in one place.
Limitations. The jump from Essential at $19 to Growth at $119 is steep. A store with 250 orders a month pays the higher price.
4 Yotpo: Best for Google Seller Ratings in One App
Yotpo is a long-running reviews and UGC platform used by many mid-market and enterprise brands.
What it does well. Yotpo is a supported Google store ratings partner, and Google even uses it as the example in its own help page. Its Pro plan lists Google Seller Rating as a feature. It also has sentiment and profanity checks on the free plan. The listing shows a 4.8 rating from 4,629 reviews.
Key features:
- Automatic review requests and email templates
- Photo and video collection on Starter
- Google rich snippets and Google Shopping Ads on Starter
- Google Seller Rating and custom questions on Pro
Pricing. Free covers up to 50 orders a month. Starter costs $15 a month or $144 a year. Pro costs $119 a month or $1,068 a year. The listing says paid prices vary with order volume, but it does not publish the tiers. See Yotpo pricing.
Best for: You, if you spend real money on Google Ads and want seller stars handled by your review app.
Limitations. You cannot know your exact bill from the listing. Get a quote for your volume before you commit.
5 REVIEWS.io: Best Budget Route to Google Seller Ratings
REVIEWS.io collects both product reviews and company reviews, and it is a Google store ratings partner.
What it does well. REVIEWS.io includes Google Seller Ratings for Google Shopping on its $19 Launch plan. That is the lowest listed price for that feature on this list. It also collects company reviews, which is what Google’s store ratings use. The free plan even includes photo and video collection. The listing shows a 4.7 rating from 775 reviews.
Key features:
- Product and company reviews on every plan
- Google Seller Ratings and rich snippets on Launch
- Past-customer review booster
- Surveys, NPS, and AI summaries on Launch Plus
Pricing. Free covers 25 review invites a month. Launch costs $19 a month for 50 invites. Launch Plus costs $45 a month for 500 invites. Paid plans have a 14-day trial. See REVIEWS.io pricing.
Best for: You, if you are a smaller store that wants seller stars on Google without paying $119 a month.
Limitations. The invite caps are tight. Plans above 500 invites a month are not shown on the listing.
6 Junip: Best for Unlimited Orders on Every Plan
Junip is a mobile-first review app with flat pricing and no order caps.
What it does well. Every Junip plan, even Free, includes unlimited orders and unlimited review request emails. That removes the biggest pricing trap in this category. Its listing describes mobile-first submissions on every plan. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and a 4.8 rating from 1,176 reviews.
Key features:
- Unlimited orders and review requests on all plans
- Rich snippets on the free plan
- Google Shopping, TikTok Shop, and Meta Shops on Growth
- Klaviyo and Postscript integrations on Growth
Pricing. Free costs $0. Core costs $29 a month. Growth costs $79 a month. Premium costs $299 a month. Each paid plan has a 7-day trial. See Junip pricing.
Best for: You, if your order volume swings a lot and you want the same bill every month.
Limitations. Google Shopping sync starts at $79, which is five times Judge.me’s flat price for a similar feature.
7 Stamped: Best for High-Volume Stores on Order Tiers
Stamped is a reviews and UGC app that has been on the Shopify App Store since 2016.
What it does well. Stamped offers in-email review collection on every tier, so buyers can leave a review without leaving their inbox. It is a supported Google store ratings partner. Its tiers stretch to 20,000 orders a month, which fits larger stores. It also offers free review migration with email support. The listing shows a 4.7 rating from 3,750 reviews.
Key features:
- In-email review collection on all tiers
- Photo and video UGC collection
- Google Shopping, Meta, and Shop App sync
- Star ratings, Q&A, and rich snippets
Pricing. $23 a month covers up to 200 orders. $99 covers 1,000. $199 covers 5,000. $399 covers 20,000. Plan names are not shown on the listing, and no app trial is listed. See Stamped pricing.
Best for: You, if you ship thousands of orders a month and want in-email reviews plus Google partner status.
Limitations. There is no free plan on the listing. Small stores pay more here than with Judge.me or Junip.
8 Fera: Best for a Long Trial and Low Entry Price
Fera is a product review app with tiered plans and the longest free trial on this list.
What it does well. Every paid Fera plan comes with a 60-day free trial. That gives you two full months to see if reviews move your sales. The $9 Startup plan is the cheapest paid entry point here. Every plan includes unlimited integrations, a Q&A widget, and AI features. The listing shows a 4.8 rating from 2,024 reviews.
Key features:
- 60-day free trial on every paid plan
- Photo and video reviews with set storage per plan
- Reviews shown in Google Search and Shopping
- Q&A widget and AI features on all plans
Pricing. Startup costs $9 a month for 100 review requests and 200 orders. Small costs $29 for 1,000 requests and 2,000 orders. Medium costs $99 for 10,000 requests. Semi-Large costs $199 for 25,000 requests. See Fera pricing.
Best for: You, if you want to test review collection for two months before spending anything.
Limitations. Storage caps are small on lower plans. Startup’s 100MB will not hold many video reviews.
9 CWILL (Trustoo): Best for Budget Video Reviews
CWILL, formerly listed as Trustoo, is a low-cost review app with unlimited reviews on every plan.
What it does well. CWILL’s Pro plan adds video review collection and Google Shopping for $29.99 a month. That is far below Loox’s video tier. It also collects reviews through QR codes and WhatsApp, and it supports 20 languages. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and a 4.9 rating from 1,589 reviews.
Key features:
- Unlimited product and store reviews on all plans

Best for: You, if you want video reviews and Google Shopping on a small budget.
Limitations. The free plan shows only 6 reviews per product. Rich snippets need the paid Essential plan.
10 Air Reviews: Best for Stores That Never Want to Pay
Air Reviews, listed as AG Product Reviews App & UGC by Avada, is a free review app.
What it does well. The listing shows a single Free plan. It still covers the basics: automated request emails, photo reviews, discounts for reviews, review imports, and review rich snippets. It supports 11 languages and offers 24/7 support. The listing shows a 4.9 rating from 3,195 reviews.

How to Choose a Shopify Review App

Choose a Shopify review app by its pricing unit first, then by which Google star features you need, then by photo and video support. Most apps do the basics well. The differences show up in your bill at higher volume and in whether you can get stars on Google Shopping and ads.
1. Check the Pricing Unit
Apps charge by orders, review invites, or a flat fee. Do the math for your busiest month. A store with 1,000 orders pays $15 on Judge.me and $199.99 on Loox Convert. If you run big sales in November, an order-based plan can spike right when you are busiest.
2. Know the Three Kinds of Google Stars
People mix these up, and most guides do too. They have different rules:
- Review rich snippets (organic search). Stars under your product page in normal results. These come from Product review schema on your page. Google’s review snippet guidelines say the reviews must be visible on the page, and Google does not guarantee the stars will show. Almost every app here outputs this markup.
- Product ratings (Google Shopping). Stars on your Shopping ads and free listings. Google’s product ratings eligibility rules require at least 50 reviews across all your products, a feed updated at least monthly, and IDs like GTIN to match reviews. This is what “Google Shopping sync” in an app means.
- Store ratings, also called seller ratings (Google Ads and Shopping). Stars for your store as a whole. Google’s store ratings help page says most merchants get a rating after 100 or more eligible reviews from the last 24 months. Text ads need an average of 3.5 stars or more.
3. Confirm Google Partner Status for Seller Ratings
Store ratings come from Google Customer Reviews or listed third-party partners. Google’s list of supported review partners includes Okendo, Reviews.io, Stamped.io, and Yotpo. It does not include Judge.me, Loox, Junip, or Fera. If seller stars on ads matter to you, pick a partner app or add Google Customer Reviews alongside your app.
4. Decide How Much Photo and Video You Need
Photo reviews are free on most apps. Video is often gated. Judge.me includes unlimited video for free. Loox needs Convert, CWILL needs Pro, and Fera limits storage by plan. If you sell apparel or beauty, a 100MB cap will run out fast.
5. Check Your Integrations
Most review requests go out by email, so your review app should connect to your email tool. Judge.me, Loox, Okendo, Yotpo, Junip, Stamped, and REVIEWS.io all list Klaviyo. If you are still picking an email platform, my guide to the best AI email marketing software covers the main options.
6. Plan for Migration
You may switch apps later, so check import and export first. Stamped lists free review migration, and Judge.me includes a free importer.
How We Researched This Guide
I compared 10 Shopify review apps using their official Shopify App Store listings. For each app, I recorded the plan names, monthly and annual prices, billing period, order or invite limits, trial length, rating, review count, and Built for Shopify badge status. I checked every listing on November 1, 2026.
I also read Google’s help pages on review snippets, product ratings, and store ratings, and checked Google’s store ratings partner list against each app. I reviewed seven top-ranking competitor guides to see which apps they cover and what they miss. Most did not explain the pricing unit, and none clearly separated rich snippets, product ratings, and seller ratings. Several still quoted old prices.
Some facts could not be confirmed. Yotpo does not publish its order-volume tiers. REVIEWS.io does not list plans above 500 invites a month. Stamped does not show plan names. Air Reviews does not publish limits or any paid add-ons. Rankings weigh value, pricing clarity, Google features, media support, and App Store reputation.
We did not test these tools ourselves. No vendor pays to be listed or ranked. Read our editorial policy to learn how we pick and review tools.
Prices last checked: November 1, 2026.
The Bottom Line
Start with Judge.me. Its free plan covers photo and video reviews and rich snippets, and the $15 Awesome plan stays flat as you grow. Choose Loox if your brand lives on photos. Choose REVIEWS.io for the cheapest Google Seller Ratings, or Yotpo and Okendo if you are a larger brand. Junip gives you a flat bill with unlimited orders.
Your next step is simple. Write down your busiest month’s order count. Run it through the cost table above. Then install the free plan of your top pick and send your first review requests this week. To track how your stars affect clicks, pair your app with one of the best AI SEO tools. For the rest of your stack, see my best business software picks.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best free review app for Shopify?
Judge.me has the best free plan. Its Forever Free plan includes unlimited product and store reviews, unlimited photo and video reviews, review widgets, and Google rich snippets. It has a 5.0 rating from 49,401 reviews on the Shopify App Store. Junip and Air Reviews are good free options too. Junip’s free plan includes unlimited orders.
Does Shopify have a built-in product reviews app?
No. Shopify delisted its free Product Reviews app on September 5, 2023, according to a Shopify staff reply in the Shopify Community. Merchants who used it could export reviews until January 2024. You now need a third-party app such as Judge.me, Loox, or Okendo to collect and show product reviews.
How do I get star ratings in Google for my Shopify store?
Install a review app that adds Product review schema to your pages. Most apps, including Judge.me’s free plan, do this. Google then decides whether to show stars, and it does not guarantee them. For stars on Google Shopping, you also need an app with Google Shopping sync and at least 50 reviews across your products.
How many reviews do I need for Google seller ratings?
Most merchants get a Google store rating after 100 or more eligible reviews from the last 24 months, per Google’s help page. To show on text ads, your average must be 3.5 stars or higher. Reviews must come from Google Customer Reviews or a listed partner such as Yotpo, Okendo, Stamped.io, or Reviews.io.
Can I move my reviews from one Shopify app to another?
Yes. Most review apps let you export reviews as a file and import them into a new app. Judge.me includes a reviews importer on its free plan, and Stamped lists free review migration with email support. Keep your old app active until the new widgets and schema are live so your Google stars do not drop.
