Why you can trust this guide: we take every price straight from the vendor website, we tell you when a price is not published, and no vendor pays to be listed or ranked. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. How we make money.

The best AI social media management tool for most small teams is Buffer. It has a free plan for 3 channels, and paid plans start at $5 per channel a month on yearly billing. Want the lowest team price? Pick FeedHive at $22 a month for 10 accounts. For free analytics, pick Metricool. For evergreen content, pick SocialBee. For big teams, pick Hootsuite or Sprout Social.

Quick answer card for AI social media management tools: Buffer overall, FeedHive for teams, Metricool free analytics

Here is what matters when you buy one of these tools. Almost all of them now write captions with AI, so that alone won’t help you choose. Look at how each one bills you. Some charge per channel or a flat price. Others charge per user, and that is where the bill jumps. A team of three can pay $264 a year or more than $10,000 for the same 10 accounts.

I pulled every price from each vendor’s own pricing page in October 2026. I say so wherever I could not confirm a number. Check the final price before paying.

What Is an AI Social Media Management Tool?

An AI social media management tool lets you plan, write, schedule and track posts for all your social accounts from one place. The AI part drafts captions, suggests ideas, picks posting times or helps you answer comments. You still approve what goes out. The tool saves you time. It does not run your social media for you.

Most of these tools started as plain schedulers and added AI helpers later. So the AI is rarely why one tool costs more than another. The price gap comes from users, accounts and extras like social listening. If you want AI for more than social posts, see our guide to the best AI marketing tools.

What Makes the Best AI Social Media Management Tool?

The best AI social media management tool posts to the networks you use, includes AI help in the plan you can afford, and bills in a way that fits your team. Check five things. Which networks does it cover? How many accounts and users do you get? Is the AI capped by credits? What does yearly billing cost against monthly? And is there a free plan or trial?

Many top-ranking lists quote only the lowest yearly-billing price and skip the cost per user. One shows Vista Social at $79 a month. That matches the $950 yearly plan split over 12 months.

Best AI Social Media Management Tool Overall

Buffer is the best AI social media management tool for most small teams. The free plan covers 3 channels and includes the AI Assistant. Paid plans cost $5 per channel a month on yearly billing, or $10 per channel with unlimited team members. You only pay for the channels you connect.

1 Buffer: Best for simple pricing

If you want an easy tool that you pay for by the channel, start with Buffer.

What it does well. The AI Assistant helps you brainstorm ideas, rewrite content and shape posts for each platform. It also covers newer networks like Bluesky, Mastodon and Threads.

Key features:

  • AI Assistant on every plan
  • Posts to 12 channels
  • Community inbox for comments
  • Start Page link-in-bio page

Pricing. The Free plan gives you up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel and 1 user. Essentials is $5 per channel a month on yearly billing, or $60 a year per channel, for 1 user. Team is $10 per channel a month on yearly billing, or $120 a year per channel, with unlimited team members. Buffer’s own guide lists monthly billing from $6 per channel. Channels above 10 cost less each. Paid plans have a 14-day free trial, and nonprofits get 50% off. See Buffer pricing.

Best for: You, if you run a small team and want low, easy-to-read pricing.

Limitations. Ten channels on Team cost $100 a month on yearly billing. Essentials only allows one user. And the pricing page does not state a refund policy.

Best Budget AI Social Media Management Tools

FeedHive is the cheapest pick for a team. Its Brand plan costs $22 a month on yearly billing and covers 10 social accounts and 20 team members. Publer is the cheapest pick if you work alone. It has a free plan for 3 accounts, and paid plans start at $5 a month for one account.

2 FeedHive: Best low-cost pick for teams

If you want AI help and room for your team at a low flat price, look at FeedHive.

What it does well. Its AI agent turns rough thoughts into posts. Performance Prediction rates a post before it goes out. It also suggests old posts to recycle.

Key features:

  • AI agent with monthly credits
  • Performance Prediction
  • Post Conditions and recycling
  • Social Inbox and Best Time Slots

Pricing. Creator is $15 a month, billed $180 a year. You get 4 social accounts, 2,500 AI credits a month and 30 scheduled posts. Brand is $22 a month, billed $264 a year, with 10 accounts, 10,000 AI credits, 20 team members and 500 scheduled posts. Business is $69 a month ($828 a year) with 100 accounts. Agency is $239 a month ($2,868 a year) with 500 accounts. There is a 7-day free trial. FeedHive says yearly billing saves up to 30%. I could not confirm its monthly-billing prices. See FeedHive pricing.

Best for: You, if you have a small team, about 10 accounts and a tight budget.

Limitations. I found no free plan and no refund policy on its pricing page. The trial is only 7 days, and AI use is capped by credits.

3 Publer: Best for solo users

If you manage a few accounts on your own, Publer lets you pay for only what you use.

What it does well. Paid plans include unlimited scheduling, first comments and RSS automations. Business adds unlimited AI prompts for text and images, plus analytics and best times to post.

Key features:

  • Unlimited AI prompts on Business
  • Unlimited scheduling on paid plans
  • Competitor analysis on Business
  • Evergreen post recycling

Pricing. The Free plan is free forever. It covers 1 user, 3 social accounts (not X) and 10 scheduled posts per account. Professional starts at $5 a month for 1 social account and 1 user, with a 7-day free trial. Business starts at $10 a month for 1 account and 1 user, with a 14-day free trial. Every 10th account or member is free. Publer’s help center says yearly billing saves 20%. There is a 14-day money-back guarantee, and prices do not include VAT. I could not confirm the price of each extra account or member, so build your plan on the page to see your total. See Publer pricing.

Best for: You, if you work alone or with one helper and manage only a few accounts.

Limitations. The free plan leaves out X and only keeps 24 hours of post history. Unlimited AI prompts come with Business, not the cheaper Professional plan.

Best Free Social Media Management Tool for Analytics

Metricool is the best pick if you want analytics and reports without a big bill. Its free plan covers 1 brand, 20 posts a month and an AI assistant. The Starter plan costs $20 a month on yearly billing for 5 brands, and it adds PDF reports and unlimited analytics history.

4 Metricool: Best for analytics and reports

If you care most about numbers and reports, Metricool gives you a lot for a low price.

What it does well. Metricool bills by brand, not by account. One brand holds one profile on each social network or ad platform. So one business on many networks can be a single brand.

Key features:

  • AI assistant on every plan
  • PDF and PPT reports on Starter
  • Tracks up to 100 competitors
  • Canva and Google Drive integrations

Pricing. The Free plan covers 1 brand, 20 posts a month and 30 days of analytics. It does not connect LinkedIn or X. Starter for 5 brands is $20 a month on yearly billing or $25 monthly. Starter for 10 brands is $36 yearly or $45 monthly, with 20 AI credits per brand each month. Advanced for 15 brands is $53 a month yearly or $67 monthly, with 35 AI credits per brand and unlimited team members. X costs an extra $10 a month per connected account. See Metricool pricing.

Best for: You, if you want strong reports for one business or a handful of clients.

Limitations. X is a paid add-on. The Starter plan card does not list team members, so plan on Advanced if you need a team. I found no trial or refund terms on its pricing page.

Best AI Social Media Tools for Content Recycling and Visual Planning

SocialBee is the best pick if you want to reuse your best posts. It sorts content into categories, reshares evergreen posts and includes unlimited AI writing from $24.20 a month on yearly billing. Later is the best pick for Instagram and TikTok planning, from $18.75 a month on yearly billing.

5 SocialBee: Best for evergreen content

If you have good posts that deserve a second life, SocialBee keeps them in rotation.

What it does well. You group posts into categories, then schedule each category. Evergreen posts go out again on their own. The AI Copilot builds a content plan and draft posts you can edit.

Key features:

  • AI Copilot for draft posts
  • Content categories
  • Evergreen recycling with expiry dates
  • One inbox for comments and DMs

Pricing. Bootstrap is $29 a month, or $24.20 a month billed yearly, for 5 profiles and 1 user. Accelerate is $49 a month, or $40.80 billed yearly, for 10 profiles and 1 user. Pro is $99 a month, or $82.50 billed yearly, for 25 profiles and 3 users. An extra user costs $10 a month or $100 a year. Every plan includes unlimited AI content generation. You get a 14-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee. See SocialBee pricing.

Best for: You, if you post tips, guides or blog links that stay useful for months.

Limitations. I found no free plan on its pricing page. The two cheaper plans only include one user, so a team of three needs Pro or paid extra users.

6 Later: Best for Instagram and TikTok

If your brand grows on photos and short videos, Later is built for the way you work.

What it does well. Later bills by social set. One set holds one profile each for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat.

Key features:

  • AI Ideas and Caption Writer
  • Link in bio on every plan
  • Social inbox on Growth and Scale
  • Competitive benchmarking on Scale

Pricing. Starter is $25 a month, or $18.75 a month billed yearly. It includes 1 social set, 1 user, 30 posts per profile each month and 5 AI credits. Growth is $50 a month, or $37.50 billed yearly, with 2 social sets, 2 users, 180 posts per profile and 50 AI credits. Scale is $110 a month, or $82.50 billed yearly, with 6 social sets, 4 users, unlimited posts and 100 AI credits. On yearly billing, an extra user is $3.75 a month and an extra social set is $11.25 a month. Every plan has a 14-day free trial. See Later pricing.

Best for: You, if Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest drive most of your reach.

Limitations. One AI credit makes 3 ideas or 1 caption, and Starter gives you only 5 a month. X is not part of a social set.

Best All-in-One Social Media Management Tool for Small Agencies

Vista Social is the best all-in-one pick for a small agency. The Professional plan costs $99 a month or $950 a year and covers 15 social profiles. It includes publishing, an inbox, reports, listening, review tools and 1,000 AI credits a month in one flat price.

7 Vista Social: Best for small agencies

If you manage several clients and want listening and reviews without add-ons, try Vista Social.

What it does well. Its first paid plan includes publishing, engagement tools, reports, listening, review management and DM automations. Ask Vista is its AI helper.

Key features:

  • Ask Vista AI with monthly credits
  • Listening and review tools
  • DM automations
  • Vista Page link-in-bio tool

Pricing. Professional is $99 a month or $950 a year, with 15 profiles and 1,000 AI credits a month. Advanced is $199 a month or $1,910 a year, with 30 profiles and 2,000 AI credits. Scale is $449 a month or $4,310 a year, with 70 profiles and 3,500 AI credits. The plan cards list 2 users on Professional, 3 on Advanced and 4 on Scale. You get a 14-day free trial with no credit card. See Vista Social pricing.

Best for: You, if you run a small agency with many client profiles.

Limitations. There is no free plan. The plan card says Professional has 2 users, but the FAQ on the same page says 3. Confirm your seat count before you buy.

Best Social Media Management Tools for Large Teams

Hootsuite and Sprout Social are the best picks for large teams, and both charge per user. Hootsuite Standard costs $99 per user a month on yearly billing and covers 10 social accounts. Sprout Social starts at $79 per seat a month on yearly billing, but its fuller plans run from $199 to $399 per seat.

8 Hootsuite: Best for growing teams

If your team needs scheduling, an inbox and brand monitoring in one tool, Hootsuite fits.

What it does well. Even Standard lets you schedule unlimited posts, make posts and images with AI, answer messages from one inbox and monitor your brand. Bigger plans add automated inbox replies and custom reports.

Key features:

  • AI-generated posts and images
  • One inbox for messages
  • Brand and competitor monitoring
  • Team approvals on Advanced

Pricing. Standard is $99 per user a month, billed yearly, with up to 10 social accounts. Professional is $199 per user a month, billed yearly, with unlimited social accounts. Advanced is $399 per user a month, billed yearly, and adds approvals and message routing. Monthly billing costs more, but I could not confirm those prices. The 14-day free trial needs no credit card. See Hootsuite pricing.

Best for: You, if you have a marketing team with a real budget and want monitoring built in.

Limitations. Three users on Standard pay $297 a month. Team approvals only come with the $399 Advanced plan.

9 Sprout Social: Best for deep reporting

If social media is a big part of your customer care, Sprout Social is the premium pick.

What it does well. Standard gives you one shared inbox, keyword monitoring and review management. Its AI teammate, Trellis, comes with every plan.

Key features:

  • Trellis AI on every plan
  • Shared inbox and review management
  • Competitor insights on Professional
  • AI reply help on Advanced

Pricing. Essentials is $79 per seat a month on yearly billing, or $99 monthly, with 5 social profiles. Standard is listed at $199 per seat a month with 5 profiles. Professional is $299 per seat a month with unlimited profiles. Advanced is $399 per seat a month. Listening and Premium Analytics are add-ons, and their prices are not published. I could not confirm the monthly-billing prices for Standard and higher. The free trial lasts 30 days with no credit card. See Sprout Social pricing.

Best for: You, if your larger team handles customer messages and needs detailed reports.

Limitations. It is the most expensive tool here. The two cheapest plans stop at 5 profiles, so a team with 10 accounts ends up on Professional. And listening costs extra.

Tools We Left Out, and Why

  • Sprinklr. Sprinklr sells to very large companies and does not publish prices. We only rank tools with prices you can check yourself.
  • Agorapulse. Standard costs $79 per user a month on yearly billing, or $99 monthly, with 10 profiles and a 30-day trial. That is the same price band as Hootsuite, so we kept one per-user pick for that budget.
  • ChatGPT and other chatbots. They can write captions. But they do not give you a content calendar or one inbox for all your accounts.

What 3 Users and 10 Social Accounts Cost in a Year

For a team of 3 with 10 social accounts on yearly billing, FeedHive Brand costs $264 a year. Later Growth costs $495, Metricool Advanced $636, Vista Social Professional $950, SocialBee Pro $990 and Buffer Team $1,200. Hootsuite Standard costs $3,564. Sprout Social Professional costs $10,764.

This math uses the cheapest plan that fits, at each vendor’s published yearly-billing price. It leaves out taxes and add-ons.

Tool and plan How it fits 3 users and 10 accounts Per month, billed yearly Cost for a year
FeedHive Brand 10 accounts and 20 team members included $22 $264
Later Growth 2 social sets, 2 users, plus 1 extra user at $3.75 $41.25 $495
Metricool Advanced 15 brands, unlimited team members $53 $636
Vista Social Professional 15 profiles. Confirm the third user About $79.17 $950
SocialBee Pro 25 profiles and 3 users included $82.50 $990
Buffer Team 10 channels at $10 each, unlimited users $100 $1,200
Hootsuite Standard 3 users at $99 each, 10 accounts $297 $3,564
Sprout Social Professional 3 seats at $299 each, unlimited profiles $897 $10,764

Later only works here if your 10 accounts fit in 2 social sets, which means no more than 2 profiles on any one network. Publer is missing because I could not confirm its price per extra account and member. The gap from top to bottom is about 40 times, and it comes from per-user billing.

How to Choose an AI Social Media Management Tool Without Overpaying

Buyer's checklist for choosing AI social media management tools: users, accounts, AI limits, free trials and refunds
  • Count your users first. Per-user tools like Hootsuite and Sprout Social multiply the price by every person you add.
  • Count your accounts by network. Buffer and Publer charge per account. Later counts social sets and Metricool counts brands.
  • Check the AI limits. Later Starter gives you 5 AI credits a month. FeedHive Brand gives you 10,000. SocialBee includes unlimited AI writing.
  • Finish the trial before you pay yearly. Yearly billing often saves 17% to 25%. Trials here run from 7 days on FeedHive to 30 days on Sprout Social.
  • Ask about refunds. SocialBee has a 30-day money-back guarantee, and Publer gives you 14 days. Other pricing pages say nothing.

The Bottom Line

If you want one safe pick, start with Buffer. You only pay for the channels you add. If you have a team and a small budget, FeedHive Brand gives you 10 accounts and 20 team members for $264 a year. Work alone? Try Publer’s free plan. Want reports? Use Metricool. Get SocialBee if you reuse your best posts, and Later for Instagram and TikTok. Small agencies should look at Vista Social. Only pay for Hootsuite or Sprout Social if you have a big team that needs monitoring and deep reports.
