Best Proxies for Web Scraping: 7 Picks, Real Prices and API Costs

Best proxies for web scraping compared on real prices per GB, plus scraping API costs per 1,000 requests, from Decodo and Oxylabs to Webshare.
Why you can trust this guide: we take every price straight from the vendor website, we tell you when a price is not published, and no vendor pays to be listed or ranked. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. How we make money.

TL;DR: This guide ranks the seven best proxies for web scraping by scraping fit, with every price read on the vendor’s page on October 7, 2026. Decodo is our top pick for most jobs at $4 per GB, pay as you go. Webshare is the cheap choice for easy sites at $2.99 a month for 100 datacenter proxies. Start with datacenter IPs, and move up only when your target blocks you.

Quick answer card: Decodo is the top web scraping proxy pick at $4 per GB, and Webshare is the cheap choice at $2.99 a month for 100 proxies.

Looking for the best proxies for web scraping? Start with a number most sales pages skip. In Proxyway’s 2026 tests, the median residential network connected 99.28% of the time on a test server. On Amazon, Google and Instagram, the median success rate fell to 74.43%.

That gap decides your real cost. Proxies are sold by the GB or by the IP, not by the page you get. So a low price per GB can still mean a high price per page.

A proxy is a middle server that sends your requests from a different IP address. An IP address is the number that identifies a device online. Scrapers spread requests over many IPs so a site doesn’t see thousands of visits from one place.

So I read every price on the vendor’s own page on October 7, 2026. Then I ranked seven providers by scraping fit and priced scraping APIs next to raw proxies.

One thing to know up front. We didn’t test these proxies. Every speed and success figure comes from a named third party. We sell nothing, and no vendor pays to be ranked.

What Are the Best Proxies for Web Scraping in 2026?

The best proxies for web scraping in 2026 are Decodo for most jobs, Oxylabs for large projects and Bright Data for heavily protected sites. Decodo’s residential proxies cost $4 per GB, pay as you go. Webshare is the low-cost pick for easy sites, at $2.99 a month for 100 datacenter proxies.

Provider Best for Starting price Trial or refund
Decodo Most scraping jobs $4/GB pay as you go 3-day, 100 MB free trial with a card
Oxylabs Large scraping projects $30/mo credit plan, $6/GB residential $5 welcome credit, no card
Bright Data Heavily protected sites $8/GB. Promo: $4/GB with code RESIGB50 $2 trial credit, valid 7 days
Webshare Easy sites on a budget $2.99/mo for 100 datacenter proxies Free plan with 10 proxies
Evomi Lowest monthly residential rate $49/mo for 100 GB, or $0.49/GB 1-day trial, billing details needed
DataImpulse Pay as you go at $1 per GB $5 for 5 GB for new users No free trial. Limited 7-day refund
Rayobyte Pay-as-you-go datacenter traffic $0.30/GB, 3 GB minimum Free trial with no card
Scraping proxy price table: Decodo $4/GB, Oxylabs $30/mo, Bright Data $8/GB, Webshare $2.99/mo, Evomi $49/mo for 100 GB.

Two proxy types show up in that table. Datacenter proxies use IPs from cloud servers. Residential proxies use IPs from real home internet connections.

What changed in 2026: NetNut’s domains were seized on July 2, 2026, according to Krebs on Security’s report on the FBI action, so it is not on this list. Oxylabs moved every product to one credit subscription. Rayobyte relaunched its site and pricing on October 1. SOAX no longer lists ISP or datacenter proxies on its site.

This list is ranked for scraping only. For the overall ranking, see our best proxy providers guide.

How Do You Choose the Best Proxies for Web Scraping?

To choose the best proxies for web scraping, match the proxy type to your target site. Use datacenter proxies for sites with light blocking, residential proxies for protected sites and a scraping API for the hardest ones. Then work out your cost per 1,000 pages, not per GB, and test on your real target.

Buyer's checklist for choosing scraping proxies: name your target, try datacenter first, price per 1,000 pages, check expiry, test on your site.

Sites block more automated traffic every year. Thales, which sells bot protection, reports that bots made up 53% of all internet traffic in 2025. In July 2025, Cloudflare began blocking AI crawlers by default for its customers.

So your proxy type matters. You can buy four kinds.

Check these five things before you pay.

  • Name your target first. A small blog and Amazon need very different tools.
  • Try datacenter IPs first. Move to residential only when you get blocked.
  • Price it per 1,000 pages. Multiply your page size by the price per GB.
  • Check what expires. Some credits and GB vanish at the end of each month.
  • Test on your real site. Buy the smallest plan and run 1,000 pages before you commit.

Scrape public data only, and check each site’s terms and your local law first. This guide is not legal advice.

The 7 Best Web Scraping Proxies, Reviewed

Scraping proxy picks by use case: Decodo for most jobs, Oxylabs for large projects, Bright Data for protected sites, Webshare for easy sites.

Prices come from each vendor’s own pages. Test results come from named third parties, not from us.

1 Decodo: Best for most scraping jobs

If you want one provider that covers easy and hard targets, start with Decodo.

What it does well. Decodo, the old Smartproxy, sells residential and datacenter proxies. In Proxyway’s 2026 residential test, it connected 99.92% of the time, second only to Oxylabs. Proxyway also named it Best All-Rounder in its 2026 awards.

Key features:

  • Sticky sessions up to 24 hours. A sticky session keeps one IP for a set time.
  • Targeting down to city, ZIP code and ASN. An ASN is the network an IP belongs to.
  • Site Unblocker and Web Scraping API add-ons

Pricing. Residential pay as you go costs $4 per GB. Monthly plans run from $11.25 for 3 GB to $275 for 100 GB, plus VAT. Shared datacenter traffic starts at $6 a month for 10 GB. See Decodo pricing.

Best for: You, if you scrape a mix of sites and want to start small.

Limitations. The free trial needs a card and turns into a paid plan unless you cancel. Using it also cancels the 14-day refund, which ends at 20% of your data or 1 GB. Decodo calls its pool “ethically-sourced”. Standard plans need no ID check, but some site types stay blocked without one.

2 Oxylabs: Best for large scraping projects

If you scrape millions of pages a month, look at Oxylabs.

What it does well. Oxylabs had the top residential success rate in Proxyway’s 2026 test, at 99.93%. It also returned 3,241,404 unique IPs across 3.6 million requests, the most of any provider. Oxylabs advertises 175 million IPs, so read pool sizes as marketing.

Key features:

  • One credit balance for every product
  • Residential, datacenter, ISP and mobile proxies
  • Web Unblocker and Web API scraping tools

Pricing. Oxylabs now sells one monthly credit plan. Starter costs $30 a month, Basic $100 and Flexible $500. On Starter, residential traffic costs $6 per GB and shared datacenter traffic costs $0.60 per GB. See Oxylabs pricing.

Best for: You, if you run big jobs every month and will use all your credit.

Limitations. There’s no pay as you go, and unused credit expires at the end of each billing cycle. The help center says self-service purchases are non-refundable. Oxylabs says every customer answers a KYC questionnaire. KYC is a check on who you are.

3 Bright Data: Best for heavily protected sites

If your target fights back hard, look at Bright Data’s Web Unlocker.

What it does well. Web Unlocker is a proxy that also handles retries and anti-bot checks, and you pay only for requests that succeed. AIMultiple’s test put Bright Data’s unblocker success at 68% to 78%, against 40% to 50% for Oxylabs. Both vendors pay for AIMultiple’s benchmarking service. Bright Data was not in Proxyway’s 2026 test.

Key features:

  • Web Unlocker billed per successful request
  • Free tier of 5,000 unlocker requests a month
  • Residential, ISP and datacenter proxies

Pricing. Web Unlocker costs $1.50 per 1,000 requests, pay as you go. Residential proxies cost $8 per GB at the regular rate. A promo with code RESIGB50 cuts that to $4 per GB. See Bright Data pricing.

Best for: You, if you run a registered business and need data from sites that block normal proxies.

Limitations. Residential access needs a compliance review. Bright Data’s docs say you must sign up for a registered company with a company email. The proxy trial is a $2 credit that lasts 7 days. Bright Data says its home IPs come from users who opt in.

4 Webshare: Best for easy sites on a budget

If your targets don’t block much, Webshare is the cheapest way to start.

What it does well. Webshare sells datacenter proxies by the proxy, not by the GB. In Proxyway’s US datacenter test, it reached 99.93% success. There’s also a free plan with 10 shared proxies and 1 GB a month.

Key features:

  • Free plan with 10 shared proxies
  • 250 GB a month included in listed prices
  • About 30% off with yearly billing

Pricing. 100 shared datacenter proxies cost $2.99 a month. Rotating residential starts at $3.50 a month for 1 GB. See Webshare pricing.

Best for: You, if you scrape public pages on sites with light blocking.

Limitations. There’s no pay as you go, and unused bandwidth does not roll over. Refunds need a request within 2 days. Webshare has no scraping API. It says some targets open up only after a short KYC check.

5 Evomi: Best for the lowest monthly residential rate

If you need a lot of residential traffic for little money, look at Evomi.

What it does well. Evomi’s Core Residential plan has the lowest residential rate per GB in this guide. Proxyway gave Evomi its Best Value award for 2026. But Proxyway’s speed test lists “Evomi Premium”, which scored 99.58%. Evomi sells Premium Residential at $3.98 per GB, a different pool from Core.

Key features:

  • Core Residential at $0.49 per GB
  • Sticky sessions up to 24 hours
  • Scraper API from $0.20 per 1,000 results

Pricing. Core Residential costs $49 a month for 100 GB, and extra GB cost the same $0.49. Pay as you go costs $0.99 per GB, starting at 15 GB. See Evomi pricing.

Best for: You, if you need many residential GB each month and want the lowest listed rate.

Limitations. Monthly GB don’t roll over. Evomi says ZIP, ISP and ASN filters multiply the bandwidth you are billed, up to 15 times. The 30-day refund is capped at 10% of your data or 1 GB. Evomi’s FAQ says KYC is not required by default.

6 DataImpulse: Best for pay as you go at $1 per GB

If you don’t want a subscription, DataImpulse is the simple choice.

What it does well. You top up, you scrape, and the traffic never expires. In Proxyway’s 2026 test, DataImpulse connected 99.74% of the time.

Key features:

  • Residential traffic at $1 per GB
  • Traffic that never expires
  • Datacenter traffic at $0.50 per GB

Pricing. New users can buy 5 GB for $5. After that, the minimum top-up is $50, which buys 50 GB. At 1 TB the rate drops to $0.80 per GB. See DataImpulse pricing.

Best for: You, if your scraping volume jumps around from month to month.

Limitations. Only country targeting comes at the base rate. DataImpulse bills state, city, ZIP and ASN targeting at double the standard rate. There’s no scraping API and no free trial. Its terms don’t require an ID check at signup.

7 Rayobyte: Best for pay-as-you-go datacenter traffic

If you want cheap rotating datacenter IPs with no plan, try Rayobyte.

What it does well. Rayobyte’s rotating datacenter pool gives you a new IP on every request. In Proxyway’s US datacenter test, Rayobyte hit 99.88% success. Its residential pool scored lower in the residential test, at 98.02%.

Key features:

  • Rotating datacenter traffic at $0.30 per GB
  • Free trial with no credit card
  • Scraping API with 5,000 free requests

Pricing. Rotating datacenter traffic costs $0.30 per GB for 3 to 50 GB, so the 3 GB minimum comes to $0.90 by our math. Premium Residential costs $3.50 per GB up to 49 GB. The Scraping API costs $0.0018 per request. See Rayobyte pricing.

Best for: You, if you scrape mid-size sites and want to pay only for what you use.

Limitations. The rotating datacenter pool skips the largest search, shopping and social sites by default. You can’t pick a country on it, and the trial size isn’t published. On its compliance page, Rayobyte says it knows every paying customer and that device owners opt in.

How Much Do Web Scraping Proxies Cost?

Web scraping proxies cost $0.30 to $8 per GB at the seven vendors in this guide. Datacenter traffic runs $0.30 to $0.60 per GB, and residential traffic runs $0.49 to $8 per GB. For 100 GB of residential traffic a month, you would pay $49 to $800, by our math.

Provider and plan Price to start Unit price Billing basis What you get
Decodo residential, 3 GB $11.25/mo plus VAT $3.75/GB Monthly. Pay as you go is $4/GB Rotating home IPs
Oxylabs Starter $30/mo $6/GB residential Monthly credit plan One balance for every product
Bright Data residential No commitment $8/GB. Promo: $4/GB Pay as you go, billed monthly Home IPs after a compliance review
Webshare datacenter, 100 proxies $2.99/mo $0.0299 per proxy Monthly or yearly 100 shared IPs, 250 GB a month
Webshare residential, 1 GB $3.50/mo $3.50/GB Monthly or yearly Rotating home IPs
Evomi Core Residential $49/mo $0.49/GB Monthly 100 GB of rotating home IPs
DataImpulse residential $5 for new users, then $50 $1/GB Pay as you go Traffic that never expires
Rayobyte rotating datacenter $0.90 for 3 GB (our math) $0.30/GB Pay as you go New IP on every request

Only one price here is a promo. Bright Data’s $4 rate needs the code RESIGB50, and its page shows no end date.

What is not in the sticker price:

  • Minimum spend. DataImpulse’s standard top-up is $50. Evomi’s pay as you go starts at 15 GB, or $14.85 by our math.
  • Credits and GB that expire. Oxylabs credit expires every billing cycle. Webshare and Evomi monthly GB don’t roll over.
  • Targeting surcharges. DataImpulse doubles the rate for city or ZIP targeting. Evomi’s ZIP and ASN filters multiply your billed bandwidth.
  • Bandwidth caps. Webshare’s listed prices include 250 GB a month.
  • Tax. Decodo adds VAT to every card price.
  • Refund limits. Decodo’s refund ends at 20% of your data or 1 GB. Evomi’s is capped at 10% or 1 GB.

Now the real bill for residential traffic at three job sizes. This table is our math, using only published rates.

Provider 10 GB a month 100 GB a month 1,000 GB a month
Evomi Core $14.85 (15 GB minimum) $49 $490
DataImpulse $10 of a $50 top-up $100 $800
Rayobyte Premium Residential $35 $200 $700
Webshare $27.50 $225 $1,500
Decodo $35 $275 $2,000
Oxylabs $60 $500 $2,500
Bright Data, pay as you go $80 ($40 promo) $800 ($400 promo) $8,000 ($4,000 promo)

Evomi’s 1,000 GB figure is the $49 plan plus 900 extra GB at $0.49 each. Rayobyte’s rate falls as you buy more at once, from $3.50 to $2.00 to $0.70 per GB.

Oxylabs’ 10 GB figure is the $30 Starter plan plus a $30 top-up, and we assumed top-ups use your plan’s rate. Its 100 GB figure is the Flexible plan, and its 1,000 GB figure is the Enterprise plan.

For 1 TB or more, Bright Data asks you to contact sales.

Is a Scraping API Cheaper Than Raw Proxies?

A scraping API is cheaper than raw proxies when pages are heavy or the site is heavily protected. Bright Data’s Web Unlocker costs $1.50 per 1,000 successful requests. Loading 1,000 full pages of 2,652 KB through a $4 per GB residential proxy costs about $10.61, by our math. For light HTML pages, raw proxies cost far less.

A raw proxy just passes your request along, and you handle retries and blocks yourself. A scraping API takes a URL and sends back the page. You pay per request, not per GB.

Remember the gap from the intro. With raw proxies, Proxyway’s median success on real sites was 74.43%. At that rate, you would send about 1,344 requests to land 1,000 good pages, by our math. Failed tries can still use data. SOAX’s pricing page says it counts retries and interrupted connections toward your GB.

Here are official list prices for six scraping APIs and unblockers.

Tool Billing unit List price
Bright Data Web Unlocker Per 1,000 successful requests $1.50 pay as you go
Oxylabs Web API, /Scrape Per 1,000 results From $0.50 on the $30 Starter plan
Decodo Site Unblocker Per GB $10/mo for 1 GB, plus VAT
Zyte API Per 1,000 requests, by site tier $0.13 to $1.27 for plain HTTP. $1.01 to $16.08 with a browser
ScraperAPI Credits $49/mo for 100,000 credits. Google costs 25 credits a request
ScrapingBee Credits $49/mo for 250,000 credits. A stealth request costs 75 credits

Credits hide the real rate. On ScraperAPI’s $49 plan, 1,000 simple pages cost $0.49, but 1,000 Google pages cost $12.25. ScrapingBee’s docs price a stealth request at 75 credits, so 1,000 of them cost $14.70. All three figures are our math.

With raw proxies, page size drives the bill. HTTP Archive found that the median desktop page weighed 2,652 KB in October 2024. Only about 18 KB of that was HTML.

Method 1,000 light pages (18 KB of HTML each) 1,000 full pages (2,652 KB each)
Datacenter proxy at $0.60/GB $0.01 $1.59
Residential proxy at $1/GB $0.02 $2.65
Residential proxy at $4/GB $0.07 $10.61
Bright Data Web Unlocker $1.50 $1.50

This table is our math, before retries. Your pages will land between the two columns. For light pages on easy sites, raw proxies win easily. For full pages on protected sites, a per-request price can beat a $4 per GB proxy.

APIs aren’t magic, though. Proxyway ran 11 scraping APIs against 15 protected sites in late 2025. Only Zyte, Decodo, Oxylabs and ScrapingBee opened their targets more than 80% of the time. The average success rate was 21.88% on Shein, 36.63% on G2 and 43.75% on Hyatt.

Providers We Left Out, and Why

NetNut. Its domains were seized on July 2, 2026, per the Krebs on Security report linked above. You can’t buy it today.

IPRoyal. Its residential traffic costs $7.35 for 1 GB, a high rate to start. Proxyway also measured a 96.11% success rate, the second lowest in its 2026 group.

SOAX. Proxyway measured a strong 99.78% success rate. But SOAX’s paid plans start at $200 a month, and its no-fee Sandbox option costs $5.00 per GB for US traffic.

Brands tied to IPIDEA. In January 2026, Google’s threat team linked names such as 922 Proxy, Luna Proxy and PIA S5 Proxy to one network. Google found that many apps enrolled devices without telling users. We don’t recommend those brands.

How We Researched This Guide

We read every price on the vendor’s own pricing page, help center or docs on October 7, 2026. We opened the rendered pages, with their tabs and toggles.

We could not confirm a few things. Rayobyte doesn’t publish its trial size. Oxylabs has refund texts that disagree. Bright Data doesn’t say when its promo ends. We got two readings of Rayobyte’s Web Unblocker price, so we left it out.

We did not test these proxies ourselves. Success and speed figures come from Proxyway and AIMultiple. Proxyway earns affiliate commissions, and AIMultiple is paid by vendors it tests.

The cost tables are our math. No vendor pays to be listed or ranked. You can read more in our editorial policy.

Prices last checked: October 7, 2026.

The Bottom Line

Here is what to take away. First, success on real sites sets your cost, not the price per GB. Second, datacenter traffic at $0.30 to $0.60 per GB handles easy sites, so try it first. Third, price every option per 1,000 pages before you choose between proxies and an API.

For most scraping jobs, I’d start with Decodo at $4 per GB, pay as you go. Scraping easy sites on a budget? Try Webshare’s free plan. Stuck on a protected site? Price Bright Data’s Web Unlocker at $1.50 per 1,000 requests.

Your next step is simple. Pick two providers and buy the smallest plan from each. Run 1,000 pages on your real target and count the good ones. You’ll soon know which one fits your scraper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need proxies for web scraping?

Not always. A small job on a site with light blocking can run from one IP address. You need web scraping proxies when a site limits requests per IP or shows different content by country.

Are residential or datacenter proxies better for scraping?

Datacenter proxies are cheaper, at $0.30 to $0.60 per GB in this guide, and suit sites with light blocking. Residential proxies for web scraping cost $0.49 to $8 per GB and suit protected sites.

How many proxies do I need to scrape a website?

There is no fixed number. With rotating plans you buy GB, and the provider swaps IPs for you. With per-IP plans, test how many requests one IP can send before your target blocks it.

Is it cheaper to use a scraping API than proxies?

It depends on page size. Bright Data’s Web Unlocker costs $1.50 per 1,000 successful requests. By our math, 1,000 full pages through a $4 per GB proxy cost about $10.61, while 1,000 light HTML pages cost about $0.07. So the best proxy for scraping light pages is still a raw proxy.

Is web scraping with proxies legal?

It depends on the data, the site’s terms and where you are. In hiQ v. LinkedIn, a US appeals court said that accessing publicly available data likely isn’t access “without authorization” under the federal hacking law. Yet hiQ later accepted a $500,000 judgment tied to LinkedIn’s user agreement. Check each site’s terms and your local law.
