Why you can trust this guide: we take every price straight from the vendor website, we tell you when a price is not published, and no vendor pays to be listed or ranked. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. How we make money.

If you already pay for SEO software, Semrush is the best AI search visibility tool for most teams. Its $199 Starter plan now comes with 50 daily prompts. Peec AI is the cheapest solid tracker on its own, at $95 a month. Otterly fits solo marketers at $29. Scrunch gives larger brands the most AI engines for the money.

Quick answer card naming Semrush as the best AI search visibility tool for most buyers, with Peec AI, Otterly and Scrunch as alternatives

Here is my advice before you compare prices. Your bill comes down to simple math: prompts, times engines, times how often each prompt runs. Most vendors show a low starting price. It covers a few prompts on two or three engines. Then they charge extra for Gemini, Perplexity or Claude. A tool that looks like $29 a month can end up near $250. That happens once you track a real set of prompts on the engines your buyers use.

I took every price below from each vendor’s own pricing page in September 2026. Prices are for monthly billing in US dollars unless we say otherwise.

What an AI Search Visibility Tool Actually Tracks

An AI search visibility tool sends a set list of prompts to AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on a schedule. Then it records whether your brand is mentioned and where it shows up in the answer. It also tracks which sources get cited and how you compare with competitors.

AI answers change each time you ask. So one check in a free AI visibility checker tells you little. A tracker is worth paying for because it runs the same prompt every day and shows you the trend.

Peec AI shares the math most vendors hide. Your monthly AI answers equal tracked prompts, times active models, times how often they run. Its own example is 25 prompts on 3 models for 30 days. That makes 2,250 answers. Keep that formula in mind as you read any pricing page.

This matters. A Pew Research Center study of Google users looked at clicks. People clicked a normal result in 8% of visits when an AI summary showed up. Without one, they clicked in 15%. If buyers get their shortlist from an AI answer, you need to know if you made the list. For more tools like these, see our AI tools hub.

What Tracking 50 or 150 Prompts Really Costs

Want to track 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews? Expect to pay about $125 to $300 a month on published plans. Peec AI is cheapest at $125. Semrush costs $199 and includes a full SEO suite. Otterly comes to $248 once you add Gemini.

We priced two setups. One is a small business tracking 50 prompts that buyers ask before they buy. The other is a growing SaaS company or agency client tracking 150. Both use the same four engines, checked daily, on monthly billing.

Tool 50 prompts, 4 engines How we got there 150 prompts, 4 engines How we got there
Peec AI $125 Starter $95 (3 models) + $30 extra model $315 Pro $245 + $70 extra model
Semrush $199 Starter, 50 prompts included $549 Advanced (200 prompts); Pro+ stops at 100
Ahrefs Brand Radar $229 Lite $129 + $100 Growth checks pack $379 Lite $129 + $250 Scale checks pack
Otterly $248 Standard $189 + Gemini $59 $347 Standard $189 + 100 prompts $99 + Gemini $59
Scrunch $300 Starter, 350 prompts included $300 Same plan covers it
SE Ranking $218* Core $129 + AI Search $89 $218* 200 prompts included
ZipTie Configurator No unit prices published Configurator No unit prices published
Profound Quote only No self-serve plan listed Quote only No self-serve plan listed

*SE Ranking’s AI Search add-on does not list Gemini. So it covers three of the four engines here. Its pricing page also doesn’t say how often each prompt is refreshed.

Two things stand out. Scrunch looks pricey at $300. But past 150 prompts, it costs less per prompt than most rivals, and it includes Claude and Meta AI. Semrush has a big price jump. 100 prompts costs $299 on Pro+, but 150 forces you up to Advanced at $549. Ahrefs counts one check per prompt, platform, location and update. So 50 prompts on four platforms daily is about 6,000 checks a month. Add a second country and that doubles.

What Makes the Best AI Search Visibility Tools?

The best AI search visibility tool tracks the prompts your buyers ask, on the engines they use, at a price that fits you. Judge five things. See how many prompts are included and which engines cost extra. Look for per-user fees or checks you pay for by use. Check how often data refreshes. And make sure you can start on monthly billing, since this market moves fast.

We compared each tool on published price, prompts included, engines covered, extra engine costs, user limits and trial terms. Here is my tip. List the questions a buyer asks across 3 to 5 topics. Then buy for that number. Watch for “choose 3 models” limits, because a fourth engine becomes an extra charge. Start on monthly billing. Switch to yearly once the tool proves useful.

AI search visibility tools picks: existing SEO suite users: Semrush; standalone on a budget: Peec AI; solo marketers: Otterly; larger brands: Scrunch

Best AI Visibility Tools If You Already Use an SEO Suite

If you already pay for Semrush, Ahrefs or SE Ranking, start with the AI tracking in that suite. Do that before you buy anything new. Semrush now puts AI prompt tracking in its main plans. SE Ranking gives you the most prompts for the money. Ahrefs Brand Radar adds market-wide AI data that no standalone tracker can match.

1 Semrush: Best for teams that also need SEO data

Want AI prompt tracking in the same plan as your SEO tools? Semrush now builds it into its main plans.

What it does well. You get keyword research, rank tracking and AI visibility on one bill. Starter tracks 50 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI results.

Key features:

  • 50 to 200 daily prompts by plan
  • ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI results
  • 500 keywords and 5 websites on Starter
  • Keyword research and rank tracking on the same bill

Pricing. Starter is $199 a month (50 prompts). Pro+ is $299 (100 prompts). Advanced is $549 (200 prompts). On yearly billing, those drop to $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67. Extra users start at $45 a month each. Many reviews still quote the AI Visibility Toolkit as a $99 add-on. But the pricing page no longer shows it on its own. There is a 7-day trial.

Best for: You, if you need keyword research, rank tracking and AI visibility on one bill, and 50 to 100 prompts is enough.

Limitations. Adobe finished buying Semrush in April 2026. It plans to use Semrush’s AI visibility data in its own products. If AI tracking is your only reason to buy, that is a reason to avoid paying far ahead. It also gets costly if you need more than 100 prompts on a budget, or several logins.

2 Ahrefs Brand Radar: Best for existing Ahrefs users who want market-wide data

Want to compare any brand in AI answers without writing prompts? Ahrefs Brand Radar does that.

What it does well. Its AI Visibility Index pulls from Ahrefs’ database of more than 475 million prompts based on real searches. It covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. That gives you competitor and category data at a scale prompt trackers can’t sample.

Key features:

  • AI Visibility Index on 475 million+ prompts
  • Six AI platforms, plus Claude for your own prompts
  • Your own prompts, charged in checks by use
  • Competitor and category benchmarking

Pricing. The AI Visibility Index costs $199 a month. Paid Ahrefs plans include a few custom prompts (5 on Lite, 10 on Standard, 20 on Advanced). Extra check packs cost $50 for 2,500, $100 for 7,000 or $250 for 25,000 a month. Ahrefs Lite itself costs $129 a month.

Best for: You, if you already use Ahrefs and want to compare yourself with competitors and your category.

Limitations. If you don’t already use Ahrefs, the base plan plus add-ons costs more than a standalone tracker for the same prompts. You pay for checks by use, so adding countries multiplies what you use.

3 SE Ranking: Best for the most prompts per dollar in an SEO suite

Want the most tracked prompts for the money, plus a solid SEO suite? Look at SE Ranking.

What it does well. The base AI Search tier includes 200 prompts. It tracks AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT. Bigger tiers of 450 and 1,000 prompts come on higher plans.

Key features:

  • 200 prompts on the base AI Search add-on
  • AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT
  • Bigger tiers of 450 and 1,000 prompts
  • Full SEO suite included

Pricing. The AI Search add-on costs $89 a month ($71.20 on yearly billing). That is on top of the Core plan at $129 ($103.20 yearly). The 14-day trial includes 20 AI prompts a day.

Best for: You, if you want the most tracked prompts for around $200 a month, along with an SEO suite.

Limitations. The add-on doesn’t list Gemini. So skip it if Gemini matters to your buyers.

Best Standalone AI Visibility Trackers for Small Teams

If your small team only needs AI visibility tracking, here is how to choose. Peec AI gives the best value at $95 for 50 daily prompts. Otterly is the cheapest way to start, at $29 for 15 prompts. ZipTie fits you if you want to build a plan one engine at a time. All three include unlimited users.

4 Peec AI: Best for the cheapest serious standalone tracker

Want a focused AI visibility tracker with clear pricing? Go with Peec AI.

What it does well. All plans run daily and come with unlimited users. You pick three models from ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver. Advanced adds tracking in more than one country and Looker Studio.

Key features:

  • Daily tracking with unlimited users
  • Choose 3 models per plan
  • Tracking in more than one country and Looker Studio on Advanced
  • Perplexity as an extra paid model

Pricing. Starter is $95 a month (50 prompts, 1 project). Pro is $245 (150 prompts, 2 projects). Advanced is $495 (350 prompts, 5 projects). Perplexity is an extra model. It costs $30, $70 or $140 a month, based on your plan. Yearly billing saves 15%. A free trial is offered.

Best for: You, if you want clear pricing and plan to stick to three or four engines.

Limitations. Claude and several other models are only on Enterprise. A fourth engine is an extra charge, not a setting.

5 Otterly: Best for solo marketers and tight budgets

Want the cheapest way to start tracking a few brand and product prompts? Pick Otterly.

What it does well. Lite tracks 15 daily prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Standard adds API access and unlimited recommendations. Users are unlimited.

Key features:

  • 15 daily prompts on Lite
  • ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot included
  • API access and unlimited recommendations on Standard
  • Extra paid engines: AI Mode, Gemini and Claude

Pricing. Lite costs $29 a month ($25 on yearly billing). Standard is $189 for 100 prompts. Premium is $489 for 400 prompts. Google AI Mode and Gemini each cost $9, $59 or $149 a month, based on the plan. Claude costs $29, $109 or $439. Extra 100-prompt packs cost $99, but not on Lite. A free trial is offered.

Best for: You, if you are a solo marketer or consultant who wants to watch a few prompts for cheap.

Limitations. The extra engines can cost nearly as much as the plan. On Premium, adding Claude costs $439 a month. That is close to the price of the plan itself.

6 ZipTie: Best for build-your-own usage plans

Want to build your plan one engine at a time? ZipTie uses a builder instead of fixed plans.

What it does well. You pick engines from ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, AI Mode, Copilot, Bing AI Overview and Gemini. Then you set how many prompts run daily, weekly or monthly. Checking long-tail prompts weekly or monthly keeps costs down.

Key features:

  • Up to 7 engines, priced one engine at a time
  • Daily, weekly or monthly prompt schedules
  • Unlimited users and projects
  • 7-day trial with 25 daily prompts on three engines

Pricing. Preset plans start at $42.75 a month. Longer billing cuts the prompt cost by up to 20% on yearly terms.

Best for: You, if you want to check long-tail prompts weekly or monthly to keep costs down.

Limitations. Unit prices are not published. So you can’t know the price until you open the builder.

Best AI Visibility Platforms for Larger Brands and Agencies

Need lots of prompts across every major engine? Scrunch is the best option with a published price. It gives you 350 custom prompts on seven AI platforms for $300 a month. Profound is the enterprise pick. But it now sells only through custom quotes, after a free 7-day trial.

7 Scrunch: Best for broad engine coverage for brands

Tracking many prompts across every major engine? Scrunch is the best option with a published price.

What it does well. It covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta. You get Claude and Meta AI without paying enterprise prices.

Key features:

  • 350 custom and 1,000 industry prompts on Starter
  • Seven AI platforms, including Claude and Meta
  • 3 user licenses and 5 page audits on Starter
  • 7-day trial

Pricing. Starter costs $300 month to month, or $250 a month billed yearly. Growth is $500 monthly or $417 yearly. It gives you 700 custom prompts, 2,500 industry prompts and 5 licenses.

Best for: You, if you track more than 150 prompts or need Claude and Meta AI without enterprise prices.

Limitations. The pricing page doesn’t say how often data refreshes. Ask before you buy. If you only need 20 to 50 prompts, Peec or Semrush costs less.

8 Profound: Best for enterprise programs

Running a big enterprise program? Profound has the widest engine list and vendor support.

What it does well. Enterprise covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa Search. Seats are unlimited.

Key features:

  • Up to 9 engines on Enterprise
  • Unlimited seats
  • Vendor support for big programs
  • Free 7-day trial

Pricing. Enterprise has custom pricing. The free trial gives you 50 prompts a day for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Many reviews still list Profound plans at $99 and $399. But its pricing page no longer shows them.

Best for: You, if you run a large brand program and want the widest engine list with vendor support.

Limitations. You can’t get a price today. And it doesn’t fit budgets under a few hundred dollars a month.

We left out Hall, a common pick on other lists. Tracksuit bought it in July 2026, and its pricing page was offline when we checked.

How to Choose an AI Visibility Tracker Without Overpaying

Buyer's checklist for choosing AI search visibility tools: prompt counts, extra engine fees, model limits, per-user charges and refresh rate
  • Count your prompts before you compare prices. Across 3 to 5 topics, list the questions a buyer asks before choosing a product like yours. Buy for that number, not the plan name.
  • Check which engines cost extra. Gemini, Perplexity and Claude are the usual add-ons. On Otterly Premium, adding Claude costs $439 a month. That is close to the plan price itself.
  • Look for “choose 3 models” limits. Peec includes three models per plan. A fourth engine is an extra charge, not a setting.
  • Watch per-user fees and checks charged by use. Semrush charges from $45 per extra user. Peec, Otterly and ZipTie include unlimited users. Ahrefs charges for custom prompts by checks, so adding countries multiplies what you use.
  • Confirm how often data refreshes. Daily is standard. But some pages don’t say, and weekly data makes trends harder to read.
  • Don’t pay far ahead in a fast-moving market. Two well-known tools changed owners this year (Semrush to Adobe, Hall to Tracksuit). Profound also dropped its public plans. Start monthly. Switch to yearly once the tool proves useful.

How We Evaluated These Tools

We compared each tool on published price, prompts included, engines covered, extra engine costs, user limits and trial terms. All figures come from vendor pricing pages and docs, checked in September 2026. We did not run our own visibility or accuracy tests, and we don’t claim hands-on testing. No provider pays for placement. See our editorial policy for how we research and update guides.

The Bottom Line

Already need an SEO suite? Semrush Starter at $199 is the easiest way to add 50 daily AI prompts. SE Ranking gives you 200 prompts for $218 if you can live without Gemini. For AI tracking only, Peec AI is the best value at $125 for 50 prompts on four engines. Otterly Lite at $29 is the cheapest place to start. If you track hundreds of prompts across Claude, Gemini and Meta, look at Scrunch first. Bring in Profound only when you need an enterprise contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best AI visibility tool?

For most teams, Semrush is the best AI visibility tool if you also need SEO data. Its $199 Starter plan includes 50 daily prompts. If you only need AI tracking, Peec AI gives you 50 daily prompts on three models for $95 a month. Scrunch is the stronger pick when you track hundreds of prompts across Claude, Gemini and Meta AI.

How much do AI search visibility tools cost?

Starting plans run from $29 a month (Otterly, 15 prompts) to $300 (Scrunch, 350 prompts). Enterprise tools like Profound are sold only by quote. Say you track 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Expect roughly $125 to $300 a month on published plans. It depends on which engines cost extra.

Is there a free AI search visibility checker?

Most trackers offer free trials, not free plans. Profound’s trial covers 50 prompts a day for 7 days. ZipTie’s covers 25 daily prompts for 7 days. SE Ranking’s 14-day trial includes 20 AI prompts a day. A one-time check can help. But AI answers change from run to run, so you need daily checks to see a real trend.

Which AI search engines should I track?

Start with ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, since both reach huge audiences. Then add Perplexity and Gemini if your buyers research products there. Add Claude or Copilot if you sell to technical teams or teams that use a lot of Microsoft. Each extra engine usually raises the price. So track the engines your customers really use, not every engine offered.

How many prompts do I need to track?

Most small businesses need 30 to 100 prompts. That means a few questions about your brand, plus the comparison and “best tool for” questions buyers ask in your category. Agencies and brands with many products often need 150 to 350. Remember that cost grows with prompts, times engines, times how often they run. So 100 prompts on four engines daily means about 12,000 AI answers a month.

How is AI search tracking different from rank tracking?

A rank tracker records where you show up for a keyword on a results page. An AI search tracker sends full questions to AI engines. It records whether your brand is mentioned, how it is described and which sources are cited. Answers change between runs, and there is no fixed position. So trackers report your share of visibility over time, not a single rank.
