Best AI CRM Software: What 8 Top CRMs Really Cost Once You Add AI

Best AI CRM Software compared on real cost for a 5-person sales team, including HubSpot Sales Hub, Zoho CRM, Close, Attio and Salesforce.
Why you can trust this guide: we take every price straight from the vendor website, we tell you when a price is not published, and no vendor pays to be listed or ranked. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. How we make money.

If you run a small sales team, start with HubSpot Sales Hub. Its AI works on the low-cost plans, and you can move up as you grow. Want AI agents for the least money? Go with Zoho CRM. Do your reps spend the day on the phone? Pick Close. Running a startup? Look at Attio. Only choose Salesforce if you are a large company with a big budget.

Quick answer card: HubSpot Sales Hub is the best AI CRM for most small sales teams, with Zoho CRM, Close, Attio and Salesforce as alternatives.

Here is my advice before you compare anything. Don’t pick a CRM just because its AI sounds smart. Look at how you will pay for that AI. Some of it comes with your seat price. Some is charged each time you use it, locked to a pricier plan or sold as an add-on. That is how a $9 CRM can turn into a $400 monthly bill.

I pulled every price below from each vendor’s own pricing page in September 2026, in US dollars. CRM companies change their plans a lot, so double-check the price before you pay.

This guide is part of our best business software series, which maps the whole small business stack.

Quick Comparison: AI CRMs at a Glance

What You’re Actually Buying With an AI CRM

An AI CRM is customer software that uses AI to log calls and emails, write and summarize messages, score leads and predict which deals will close. Newer plans also add agents that find prospects or answer customers on their own. The contact database works like any other CRM. The AI is the part you pay extra for.

When you buy an AI CRM, you are really paying for three kinds of AI. Each one is priced in its own way:

  • Assistants write emails, sum up calls and answer questions about your data. They usually come with the seat price.
  • Predictions like lead scores and deal forecasts. You often need a middle or top plan to get them.
  • Agents do tasks by themselves, like finding leads or handling support chats. More and more vendors charge for them by use, through credits.

Is the AI worth it? Gartner asked 210 sales leaders. AI tools saved sellers an average of 4.8 hours per week. But 72% of companies said reps did not put much of that time back into selling. The time you save only helps if reps use it to sell. For other business software, see our SaaS buying guides.

What a 5-Person Sales Team Really Pays

If you have five sellers and pay yearly, expect to spend about $1,000 to $3,500 a year on Zoho, monday CRM, Close, Attio, Freshsales or Pipedrive. HubSpot Professional will cost you about $6,900 in the first year. Salesforce will cost you $19,200 or more once you add Agentforce.

Don’t trust the starting price. The cheapest plan often leaves out the AI you saw in the ads. So in the table below, I used the lowest plan that has the AI most small teams want. Then I multiplied it by five seats and twelve months, on yearly billing.

CRM Plan with the AI most teams want Per seat (annual) 5 seats, year one AI costs to budget for
monday CRM Standard (AI credits and agents included) $17/mo $1,020 Basic plan has no AI agents
Zoho CRM Professional (AI agents, predictions) $23/mo $1,380 Extended AI needs Enterprise at $40
Close Essentials (1,000 AI credits per user) $35/mo $2,100 Calls and SMS passed through at cost
Attio Plus (up to 10 seats) $35/mo $2,100 Extra workspace credit packs from $70/mo
Freshsales Pro $39/mo $2,340 Freddy AI Agent at $49 per 100 sessions
Pipedrive Premium (AI email writing) $59/mo $3,540 LeadBooster from $32.50, other add-ons
HubSpot Sales Hub Professional (3,000 credits) $90/mo $6,900 incl. $1,500 onboarding Credits beyond allowance at $0.01 each
Salesforce Core plus Agentforce for Sales $195 + $125/mo $19,200 Premier support adds 30% of license fees

Now watch out for these three hidden costs.

Agents charged per task. Since April 14, 2026, HubSpot charges 100 credits ($1.00) for each lead its Prospecting Agent suggests. Its Customer Agent costs 50 credits for each chat it solves. Starter comes with 500 credits a month. That is enough for five suggested leads. If you go over, HubSpot bills you per use by default. Credits you don’t use are gone at the end of each month.

AI locked to bigger plans. Salesforce only lets you add AI on Core and higher plans. You can’t buy Agentforce on Starter Suite ($25) or Pro Suite ($100). So to get Salesforce’s agents, you pay at least $195 per user, plus $125 per user for the Agentforce for Sales add-on.

Billing and seat rules. Pipedrive says paying yearly saves up to 42%, so paying month to month costs a lot more. monday CRM makes you buy at least three seats. HubSpot Professional needs a one-year contract and a $1,500 setup fee paid once.

So should you pick HubSpot or Salesforce for AI? If you are a small team, HubSpot gets you working agents for a few thousand dollars a year, and you pay per task only if you use agents a lot. Salesforce lets you customize far more. But your five-person team would pay close to three times as much, before support and setup costs.

What Makes the Best AI CRM Software?

The best AI CRM for you puts useful AI on a plan you can afford, with costs you can predict. So find the plan where the AI starts. Work out what agents will cost per task. Check when credits expire and what happens when you run out. Count seat limits and one-time fees. Then try it with your own deals.

That is exactly how we compared the CRMs here. We used each vendor’s own pricing pages and help docs from September 2026. We looked at which AI comes with each plan, how use is charged, seat and billing rules, and what five people pay in year one. Here is my tip: before you buy, load a month of your own deals. Then see if the AI’s notes and scores agree with your best rep.

AI CRM software picks by use case: HubSpot Sales Hub for small businesses, Close for phone-heavy teams, Attio for startups, Salesforce for enterprise.

Best AI CRM for Small Businesses on a Budget

If you run a small business, HubSpot Sales Hub is your best all-round choice. Its free and Starter plans include AI, and it grows with you. If you want AI agents for the least money, pick Zoho CRM. If you mostly need a simple sales pipeline, Freshsales is the cheapest paid option.

1 HubSpot Sales Hub: Best for most small teams

If you want one CRM that just works for a small business, start here. The free and Starter plans include AI, and it grows with you.

What it does well. The Breeze AI assistant is built into the tools reps already use. That makes it easier to get your team using it than Salesforce. Marketing and sales run in one system. Professional adds email sequences.

Key features:

  • Free plan for up to 2 users
  • Breeze AI assistant inside everyday tools
  • Monthly HubSpot Credits on paid plans
  • Sequences on Professional
  • Marketing and sales on one platform

Pricing. Starter costs $7 per seat per month on annual billing, or $20 if you pay monthly. It comes with 500 HubSpot Credits a month. Professional is $90 per seat on annual billing ($100 if you pay monthly on a yearly contract). It includes 3,000 credits, and you must pay a $1,500 setup fee. Enterprise is $150 per seat with 5,000 credits and a $3,500 setup fee. Credits cost $0.01 each. You can buy 1,000 more for $10. See HubSpot Sales Hub pricing.

Best for: You, if you want marketing and sales in one system and plan to move up to Professional.

Limitations. Agents are where the per-use charges begin. The price jump from Starter to Professional is big. If you only need a pipeline and will never pay for Professional, look elsewhere.

2 Zoho CRM: Best for the lowest cost with AI agents

If you want AI agents and don’t want to spend much, Zoho CRM is your best bet.

What it does well. Zoho’s AI is called Zia, and it runs on Zoho’s own servers. Zapier’s review says you don’t pay a separate fee for the AI. With Zia Agent Studio, you can build an agent by telling it what to do in plain English.

Key features:

  • Free plan for up to 3 users
  • Zia AI with no separate add-on fee (per Zapier)
  • AI agents and predictive intelligence from Professional
  • Zia Agent Studio for plain-English agents
  • Extended AI on Enterprise

Pricing. Paid editions, billed annually, are Standard at $14, Professional at $23 and Enterprise at $40 per user per month. See Zoho CRM pricing.

Best for: You, if price per seat matters most and you don’t mind a busier screen.

Limitations. The best Zia features are on Enterprise only. Zoho also takes more work to set up than HubSpot or Pipedrive. Keep that in mind if your reps pushed back on your last CRM.

3 Freshsales: Best for cheap entry and simple sales

If you mostly need a simple sales pipeline, Freshsales is the cheapest paid plan here.

What it does well. Paid plans come with contact scoring and deal insights. The Freddy AI Agent is priced per session, so its cost is easy to predict.

Key features:

  • Contact scoring
  • Deal insights
  • Freddy AI Agent for conversations (add-on)
  • 21-day trial

Pricing. On annual billing, Growth is $9, Pro is $39 and Enterprise is $59 per user per month. The Freddy AI Agent is an add-on that costs $49 per 100 sessions. If you expect the AI to handle 300 chats a month, add about $147 on top of your seats. See Freshsales pricing.

Best for: You, if you want a simple sales CRM at the lowest paid price.

Limitations. The Freshworks CRM pricing page does not show a free plan.

Best AI CRM for Pipeline and Outbound Sales Teams

Does your team spend the day working deals or on the phone? Then pick Pipedrive if you want to see your deals most clearly. Pick Close if you make lots of calls, since every plan has AI credits. Pick monday CRM if your company already uses monday.com.

4 Pipedrive: Best for visual pipelines

If you like to see all your deals at a glance, you will like Pipedrive.

What it does well. Even on Lite, you can build reports with AI. You also get Pipedrive Nova, a new meeting tool that gives you briefs, call transcripts and suggested CRM updates. Your reps can learn it in a day. AI email writing, summaries and replies start on Premium.

Key features:

  • Visual deal pipeline
  • AI report building from Lite
  • Pipedrive Nova meeting briefs and transcripts
  • AI email writing, summaries and replies from Premium

Pricing. On annual billing, Lite is $14, Growth is $39, Premium is $59 and Ultimate is $79 per seat per month. There is a 14-day trial. Plan for add-ons too. LeadBooster starts at $32.50, Campaigns at $13.33 and Web Visitors at $41. See Pipedrive pricing.

Best for: You, if your team works in deal stages and follow-ups and your reps want a tool they can learn in a day.

Limitations. It does not handle marketing emails or customer support in the same tool.

5 Close: Best for calling and outbound teams

If your reps make lots of calls and do outbound sales, Close was built for you. Every plan comes with AI credits.

What it does well. Every plan gives you AI credits for Chloe, Close’s AI assistant. The whole team shares one pool of credits. Your AI, phone dialer and pipeline are all in one place. You can use Chloe in workflows from the Growth plan up.

Key features:

  • Built-in dialer and SMS
  • Chloe AI assistant on every plan
  • Pooled AI credits
  • Chloe in workflows from Growth

Pricing. Per seat per month, Solo (one user only) is $9 yearly or $19 monthly. Essentials is $35 or $49, Growth is $99 or $109, and Scale is $139 or $149. Solo gets 500 AI credits. The team plans get 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 credits per user. Calls and texts are billed at cost, so a team that dials a lot pays for minutes on top. You get a 14-day trial with no credit card. See Close pricing.

Best for: You, if your reps make lots of calls and you want AI, a dialer and a pipeline in one place.

Limitations. Credits reset each month and don’t carry over. Most of the value is in calling. If your team rarely picks up the phone, you won’t get much out of it.

6 monday CRM: Best for teams already on monday.com

If your company already runs its work on monday.com, monday CRM is the easy pick.

What it does well. Standard and higher plans come with AI credits. You can use them on agents that find leads, make outreach calls and take meeting notes. You can also build your own agent. Pro adds an AI workflow builder.

Key features:

  • AI credits from Standard
  • Lead sourcer and outreach caller agents
  • Meeting notetaker agent
  • Build-your-own agent
  • AI workflow builder on Pro

Pricing. On annual billing, Basic is $12, Standard is $17 and Pro is $28 per seat per month. Monthly billing is $18, $25 and $41. You must buy at least 3 seats. There is a 14-day trial. See monday CRM pricing.

Best for: You, if your team is already on monday.com and you want AI agents at a low price per seat.

Limitations. If it is just you or one other person, you still pay for three seats.

Best AI-Native CRM for Startups

If you run a startup or a small sales team and want a CRM built around AI from day one, try Attio. It adds AI fields to your records and has a free plan for up to three seats. The catch is fewer ready-made integrations.

7 Attio: Best for AI-native startups

If you want a CRM built around AI from day one, look at Attio. It puts AI fields right on your records.

What it does well. Every plan includes Ask Attio and AI agents. Call recording and insights start on Pro. You can shape your data the way you want and use AI on any record.

Key features:

  • AI attributes on records
  • Ask Attio on every plan
  • AI agents on every plan
  • Call intelligence from Pro
  • Free plan for up to 3 seats

Pricing. Plus is $35 per seat on annual billing or $44 monthly, with a limit of 10 seats. Pro is $79 yearly or $99 monthly, with no seat limit. Enterprise is priced by quote. Credits per seat and per workspace are 100 and 250 on Free, 500 and 1,500 on Plus, and 1,000 and 10,000 on Pro. Extra workspace credits cost $70 to $475 a month. See Attio pricing.

Best for: You, if you run a startup or small sales team and want to shape your own data and use AI on every record.

Limitations. It has fewer ready-made integrations, so skip it if you rely on many of them. Also watch the Plus seat limit. When you hire person number eleven, you must move to Pro, and your price per seat more than doubles.

Best AI CRM for Enterprise

If you run a large sales team that needs custom setups, strong controls and agents across many teams, Salesforce is your pick. Just know it is the most expensive way to get AI. Agents are only sold on Core and higher, and Core costs $195 per user.

8 Salesforce Sales Cloud: Best for enterprise sales orgs

If you run a large sales team with complex needs, Salesforce can handle it. You get custom setups, strong controls and agents across many teams.

What it does well. The AI plans come with Flex Credits for your whole company each year. Core gets 500K, Advanced gets 1M, and Max gets 2.75M plus Agentforce for Sales. It can handle complex sales processes across many teams.

Key features:

  • Custom objects and admin controls
  • Flex Credits on AI editions
  • Agentforce for Sales on Max or as an add-on
  • 30-day trial

Pricing. Starter Suite is $25 per user per month, billed monthly or yearly. Pro Suite is $100, billed yearly. The AI plans are Core at $195, Advanced at $395 and Max at $550, all billed yearly. Agentforce for Sales starts at $125 per user per month. Premier Success support costs 30% of your net license fees. See Salesforce pricing.

Best for: You, if you have an admin or partner to set it up, complex sales processes and the budget to pay for it.

Limitations. It is the most expensive way to get AI, since agents are only sold on Core and up. Salesforce’s FAQ says most products need a yearly contract. If your team of five buys Starter Suite, you get Salesforce without the AI, which is the main reason to choose it.

How to Choose an AI CRM Without Overpaying

Buyer's checklist for choosing AI CRM software: where the AI starts, agent costs, credit expiry, seat minimums and onboarding fees.
  1. Find the plan where the AI starts. Read the full plan comparison, not just the price at the top. For example, Pipedrive’s AI email writing starts on Premium. Salesforce agents start on Core.
  2. Work out what agents cost per task. Guess how many leads or chats you will have each month. Multiply that by the credit price. At HubSpot’s $1 per suggested lead, 200 leads a month adds $200 on top of your included credits.
  3. Check what happens when you run out, and when credits expire. HubSpot, Close and Attio reset credits each month, and unused ones don’t carry over. Set a spending limit before you turn agents on.
  4. Count seat minimums and limits. monday CRM starts at 3 seats. Attio Plus stops at 10. HubSpot’s free plan covers 2 users.
  5. Add setup and support fees. HubSpot charges a one-time $1,500 setup fee for Professional and $3,500 for Enterprise. Salesforce Premier support costs 30% of license fees.
  6. Test it with your own deals. Load a month of your own pipeline. See if the AI’s notes and scores agree with your best rep.

How We Evaluated These CRMs

We compared each CRM using the vendor’s own pricing pages and help docs in September 2026. We also read vendor news about price changes, like HubSpot’s April 2026 agent pricing. We looked at which AI comes with each plan, how use is charged, seat and billing rules, and the first-year cost for five people. We did not test how accurate each AI is. Feature details come from the vendors. No vendor pays to be listed. Read our editorial policy to learn more.

The Bottom Line

If you run a small team, go with HubSpot Sales Hub. Start on Starter, then move to Professional once the agents are worth the cost to you. If price matters most, Zoho CRM Professional gives your five sellers AI agents for about $1,380 a year. If you sell by phone, pick Close. If you manage deals by stage, pick Pipedrive. If you are a startup that wants a CRM built around AI, pick Attio. Only choose Salesforce if you need its enterprise features and can pay for Core plus Agentforce.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best AI CRM for a small business?

For most small businesses, I’d start with HubSpot Sales Hub. You get a free plan for 2 users and AI on Starter from $7 per seat on annual billing. It also makes it easy for you to add agents later. If you want AI agents for less, Zoho CRM Professional costs $23 per user. Freshsales starts at $9 per user.

How much does an AI CRM cost for a 5-person team?

If you pay yearly, here is what five people will spend on a plan with useful AI. monday CRM Standard is about $1,020 a year. Zoho Professional is $1,380. Close Essentials or Attio Plus is $2,100. HubSpot Professional is $6,900 in the first year, including the setup fee. Salesforce Core with Agentforce for Sales is about $19,200 before support fees.

Are AI features included in CRM plans or paid add-ons?

Both. AI that writes and sums up usually comes with the seat price. Agents are more and more often billed by use. HubSpot uses credits at $0.01 each. Close and Attio include a monthly credit allowance. Freshsales sells its AI agent at $49 per 100 sessions. Salesforce sells Agentforce for Sales from $125 per user per month.

HubSpot vs Salesforce AI: which is better value?

If you run a small or mid-size team, HubSpot gives you better value. Its Professional plan costs $90 per seat on annual billing and includes 3,000 credits a month. Salesforce only gives you AI from Core, at $195 per user, plus Agentforce. Salesforce makes sense when you need deep custom setups, strong controls and large Flex Credit pools shared across many teams.

Do HubSpot credits roll over?

No. HubSpot says your included credits reset each month, and any you don’t use expire at month end. By default, you pay $0.01 per credit for anything over your limit. So check your agent settings and limits before you turn on the Prospecting Agent or Customer Agent.

Will an AI CRM replace sales reps?

No. An AI CRM handles logging, drafts, research and first replies for you. Your reps still ask the questions, negotiate and close the deal. Gartner found AI saves sellers about 4.8 hours a week. But 72% of sales teams say reps don’t put much of that time back into selling. You only get the value if your reps use that time to sell.
