The best commission tracking software for most small and mid-size sales teams is QuotaPath, at $35 per user a month plus a $525 monthly platform fee. Pick Sales Cookie if you want monthly billing with no contract. Pick Core Commissions or Palette for the lowest yearly cost. Pick Salesforce Spiff if your team runs on Salesforce, and CaptivateIQ, Everstage or Xactly Incent for complex plans.

Here is what matters most when you buy. The price per rep is only part of the bill. Many tools add a platform fee, a setup fee, a minimum number of payees or a charge for each data connector. Some make you pay for a full year up front. Two tools with the same per-rep price can end up thousands of dollars apart.
I pulled every price below from each vendor’s own pricing page in October 2026. Five of the eight picks publish real numbers. The other three only give quotes, and I say so plainly. Prices can change, so check the final quote before you sign.

What Is Commission Tracking Software?
Commission tracking software pulls deal data from your CRM, billing or payroll system and works out what each rep has earned. It replaces the spreadsheet. Reps see their earnings in a dashboard, managers approve payouts, and finance gets a report to send to payroll. Most tools also handle quotas, splits, clawbacks and disputes.
You will also see it called sales commission software or incentive compensation management (ICM) software. They mean the same thing. The tool does the math each pay period, so nobody has to rebuild a formula when a deal changes.
What Makes the Best Commission Tracking Software?
The best commission tracking software gets the math right, connects to the systems you already use, and shows reps their pay in real time. It should handle your actual plan rules, like tiers, splits and clawbacks. And you should be able to see the full cost, including platform fees, setup fees and connector charges, before you sign.
We compared each tool on five points. What does it cost for a real team? What is the minimum? Does it connect to your CRM out of the box? Can you build plans without paying for services? And how long does setup take? The top-ranking reviews mostly skip the extra fees, so we call them out below.

Best Overall Commission Tracking Software
QuotaPath is the best overall commission tracking software for small and mid-size teams. Growth costs $35 per user a month plus a $525 monthly platform fee, billed yearly. That fee covers your first 5 users, setup and support. It connects to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and more, and you get a 14-day free trial.
1 QuotaPath: Best for small and mid-size teams
If you want a tool you can set up fast with a clear, published price, start here.
What it does well. QuotaPath has an AI plan builder that helps you turn your comp plan into rules. You can run as many custom plans as you need. Reps can see what they have earned and forecast what a deal will pay. The platform fee also covers setup and an account team, so you don’t get a separate services bill.
Key features:
- AI-powered plan builder
- Unlimited custom plans
- Commission forecasting for reps
- CRM links to HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, Copper and Close
- Plan modeling and API access on Premium
Pricing. Growth is $35 per user a month plus a $525 monthly platform fee. Premium is $50 per user a month plus an $800 monthly platform fee. The platform fee includes your first 5 users, setup, an account team and ongoing support. All plans are billed yearly. Strategic, a managed service, is priced by quote. You get a 14-day free trial. There is no free plan. See QuotaPath pricing.
Best for: You, if you have roughly 5 to 50 reps and want a fair price with setup included.
Limitations. The $525 platform fee makes it pricey for very small teams. Five users cost $6,300 a year before you add anyone. You also have to pay yearly, and there is no monthly option on the pricing page.
Best Commission Software With No Contract
Sales Cookie is the best pick if you don’t want a yearly contract. Business costs $40 per user a month, billed monthly based on your active payees, and you can cancel anytime. The 14-day free trial includes every feature, and Sales Cookie sets up your first plan for free.
2 Sales Cookie: Best for month-to-month billing
If you want to try commission software without locking in for a year, Sales Cookie is the safest bet.
What it does well. You pay each month for the people you actually pay commissions to. If your team shrinks, your bill shrinks too. It includes a plan designer, rep dashboards, adjustments and overrides, and audit logs. It also handles more than one currency on the base plan.
Key features:
- AI assistants and plan designer
- Commission dashboards for reps
- Adjustments, overrides and audit logs
- Multi-currency support
- API access and white labeling on Business+
Pricing. Business is $40 per user a month. Business+ is $60 per user a month and adds API access, white labeling, custom integrations and priority support. You are billed monthly based on usage, with no commitment. The first plan gets free setup. Volume discounts are available. The 14-day free trial includes all features. We found no refund policy on the pricing page. See Sales Cookie pricing.
Best for: You, if you want to pay month to month or your team size changes a lot.
Limitations. At $40 a user, it costs more per head than Core Commissions. And if you need an API, you have to jump to the $60 plan.
Best Budget Commission Tracking Software
Core Commissions has the lowest published price per payee. Reporter starts at $10 per payee a month and Launch at $20, with a 15-payee minimum, billed yearly. Palette is the best flat-price option, at $590 a month for up to 15 seats on yearly billing, with unlimited free admin seats.
3 Core Commissions: Best for the lowest price per payee
Have 15 or more payees? Look here first.
What it does well. Core Commissions uses “RuleBots,” which are ready-made calculators for common commission tasks. You tweak them to match your plan. Reps log in to a portal with your company’s name and logo. It also has a dispute tool, so reps can raise a question and track the answer.
Key features:
- RuleBots for common commission rules
- White-label rep portal
- Drag-and-drop reports and dashboards
- API, web and SFTP integrations
- Dispute management
Pricing. Reporter starts at $10 per payee a month. Launch starts at $20 per payee a month, with 5 rules included and $0.50 for each extra rule. Enterprise is $35 per payee a month with unlimited rules. Managed Services adds $5 per payee a month on top of Enterprise. Every plan has a 15-payee minimum, or 50 payees for international companies. You pay yearly in advance, and setup and maintenance fees may apply. We found no free trial listed. See Core Commissions pricing.
Best for: You, if you have 15 or more payees in the US and care most about cost.
Limitations. The setup fee is not published, so your real first-year cost is unclear until you get a quote. The per-rule charge on Launch can add up if your plans have lots of rules. And the 50-payee minimum shuts out small teams outside the US.
4 Palette: Best flat price for up to 15 reps
Want one flat monthly price? Palette gives you that.
What it does well. Palette pairs commission math with “Challenges,” a feature for running sales contests. Reps get personal dashboards with real-time earnings. You get unlimited admin seats for free, so finance and RevOps don’t eat into your seat count. Starter comes with 20+ native connectors for CRMs, ERPs, billing tools and databases.
Key features:
- Real-time commission dashboards
- Palette Challenges for sales contests
- Plan scenario builder and payroll report
- 20+ native data connectors
- Clawbacks, ramps and draws on Scale
Pricing. Starter is $790 a month on monthly billing, or $590 a month on yearly billing, for up to 15 seats. Scale is listed at $1,110 a month for up to 30 seats. When we checked, the page showed that same figure on both the monthly and yearly toggle. Enterprise is priced by quote. A seat is anyone in at least one commission plan. There is a one-time setup fee based on your plans. We found no free trial listed. See Palette pricing.
Best for: You, if you have 10 to 15 reps and want a flat, predictable monthly bill.
Limitations. The flat fee is steep if you only have a few reps. Clawbacks, ramps, draws and multi-currency are all saved for Scale. And the setup fee is not published.
Best Commission Software for Salesforce Teams
Salesforce Spiff is the best pick if your sales team runs on Salesforce. It costs $75 per user a month, billed yearly. Reps get real-time statements and a commission estimator inside the tools they already use. You can buy it without Sales Cloud, but each extra outside connector costs $250 a month.
5 Salesforce Spiff: Best for Salesforce users
If your deals are already in Salesforce, Spiff keeps commissions in the same place.
What it does well. Spiff shows reps what a deal will pay before they close it. Statements update in real time, and there is a mobile app. Admins get plan management, workflow automation, audit trails and a way to settle disputes. Salesforce says it pulls sales data straight from your CRM.
Key features:
- Commission estimator for reps
- Real-time rep statements
- Plan management and dashboards
- Mobile app
- Dispute resolution and audit trails
Pricing. Spiff is $75 per user a month, billed yearly. Each extra connector to an outside system costs $250 a month. Premium support costs 30% of your net price. Salesforce does not offer a trial. Most Salesforce contracts run a year. See Salesforce Spiff pricing.
Best for: You, if your team works in Salesforce every day and you want commissions in the same system.
Limitations. It is the most expensive published per-user price on this list. The $250 connector fee hits if your billing or payroll data is kept outside Salesforce. And with no trial, you have to commit before you can try it.
Best Commission Software for Complex Plans
CaptivateIQ and Everstage are the best picks when your plans have lots of rules, roles and data sources. Both build plans without code and connect to CRMs and finance tools. Neither publishes a price. Both charge an ongoing subscription plus a one-time setup fee, and Everstage says you can go live in 4 to 6 weeks.
6 CaptivateIQ: Best for complex plans built without code
If your plans change often, CaptivateIQ lets you rebuild them without code.
What it does well. CaptivateIQ uses workbooks that feel a bit like a spreadsheet, but with a real calculation engine behind them. You can pull data from many sources and change plans without calling in services. It also uses machine learning to predict quota attainment and flag odd payouts.
Key features:
- No-code plan building with logic-based workbooks
- SmartGrid data engine
- AI help for formulas and plan questions
- Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite and Workday integrations
- ML models for quota and payout risk
Pricing. CaptivateIQ does not publish prices. It charges per seat, counting admins plus payees, with a one-time setup fee. Your quote also depends on how many integrations you need and how complex your plans are. Reporting is included at no extra charge. ASC 606 reporting is a paid add-on. We found no trial. See CaptivateIQ pricing.
Best for: You, if you have many plans or roles and a RevOps person to own the tool.
Limitations. You can’t compare its cost to others without a sales call. The workbook style takes time to learn. And the setup fee is on top of the subscription.
7 Everstage: Best for a fast launch
If you need a full commission system live within a quarter, Everstage says it can get you there.
What it does well. Everstage says you can go live in 4 to 6 weeks, with its own in-house setup team. The platform is no-code. Every plan includes the calculation engine, plan management, rep dashboards, approvals and dispute workflows. It has no enforced minimum payee count.
Key features:
- No-code calculation engine
- Rep dashboards with payout visibility
- Approvals and dispute workflows
- Salesforce app add-on
- ASC 606 module add-on
Pricing. Everstage does not publish prices. You pay a yearly platform license plus a one-time setup fee based on your data and plans. Enterprise support is priced in too. The Salesforce app, a Slack, Teams and Gmail connectivity pack, and ASC 606 compliance are add-ons. We found no trial. See Everstage pricing.
Best for: You, if you have 20 or more payees and want to launch within about six weeks.
Limitations. Useful extras like the Salesforce app and Slack alerts cost more. You need a yearly contract. And the 4 to 6 week timeline is the vendor’s own claim.
Best Enterprise Commission Software
Xactly Incent is the best pick for large sales teams with strict finance and audit needs. It comes in three tiers, Core, Plus and Ultimate. Plus adds ASC 606 commission expense accounting and a full sandbox. Pricing is quote only, based on how many people you pay and how complex your plans are.
8 Xactly Incent: Best for large, global teams
If you pay hundreds of reps and answer to auditors, look at Xactly.
What it does well. Xactly Incent handles big, layered plans with a fast calculation engine. Higher tiers add ASC 606 accounting, prior-period fixes, and security by business group. The top tier adds industry pay benchmarks, AI agents and goal tracking for MBOs.
Key features:
- Calculation engine and plan admin on Core
- ASC 606 accounting on Plus
- Full sandbox for testing plan changes
- Industry benchmarking on Ultimate
- AI assistants and AI agents
Pricing. Xactly does not publish prices. It sells three tiers: Incent Core, Incent Plus and Incent Ultimate. Xactly says pricing depends on how many people you pay and how complex your plans are. There is no self-service trial. See Xactly Incent pricing.
Best for: You, if you run a large or global sales team with finance and audit rules to follow.
Limitations. It is too much tool for a small team. You can’t see any price without a sales process. Benchmarking and AI agents are held for the top tier.
Tools We Left Out, and Why
You will see these on other lists. Here is why they did not make our top 8.
- Performio. Its pricing page says it is built for teams with 70+ commissionable employees and gives no prices. Xactly and CaptivateIQ cover that same buyer.
- ElevateHQ. Its pricing page lists plan names but no dollar amounts, so we could not confirm what you would pay.
- Commissionly. Its pricing page now asks you to request a price. We only list prices we can confirm with the vendor.
- Your CRM’s built-in tools. Some CRMs can track simple commissions. But they rarely handle tiers, splits, clawbacks and rep statements the way a real commission tool does.
What 15 Reps Pay in a Year
For 15 reps, Core Commissions Launch costs $3,600 a year and Palette Starter costs $7,080 on yearly billing. Sales Cookie Business costs $7,200, QuotaPath Growth $10,500 and Salesforce Spiff $13,500. CaptivateIQ, Everstage and Xactly need a quote. These figures leave out setup fees, connectors and taxes.
This math uses each tool’s published price for 15 people on commission for 12 months. For QuotaPath, the $525 fee covers 5 users, so you pay $35 for each of the other 10.
| Tool and plan | How it is priced | 15 reps for a year |
|---|---|---|
| Core Commissions Reporter | $10 per payee a month | $1,800 |
| Core Commissions Launch | $20 per payee a month | $3,600 |
| Palette Starter (yearly) | $590 a month for up to 15 seats | $7,080 |
| Sales Cookie Business | $40 per user a month | $7,200 |
| Palette Starter (monthly) | $790 a month for up to 15 seats | $9,480 |
| QuotaPath Growth | $525 a month + $35 per user after 5 | $10,500 |
| Salesforce Spiff | $75 per user a month | $13,500 |
| QuotaPath Premium | $800 a month + $50 per user after 5 | $15,600 |
Setup fees can change this order. Core Commissions and Palette both say setup fees may apply, while QuotaPath folds setup into its platform fee and Sales Cookie sets up your first plan for free. If Spiff needs two outside connectors, add $6,000 a year.
How to Choose Commission Tracking Software Without Overpaying

- Count your payees first. Core Commissions needs at least 15. Palette Starter caps at 15 seats. QuotaPath’s fee covers 5 users. Your head count decides which tool is cheapest.
- Ask about the setup fee. CaptivateIQ, Everstage, Palette and Core Commissions all charge or may charge for setup. Get it in writing before you compare.
- Price your connectors. Spiff charges $250 a month for each outside connector. Check that your CRM, billing and payroll tools are covered.
- Decide if you can commit for a year. Most tools bill yearly. If you can’t commit, Sales Cookie bills monthly and lets you cancel anytime.
- Test with your real plan. Use a free trial, like QuotaPath’s or Sales Cookie’s 14 days, to load one real pay period and check the math.
- Match the tool to your complexity. Simple tiers and splits do not need an enterprise tool. Save CaptivateIQ, Everstage and Xactly for many plans, roles or audit rules.
How We Evaluated These Tools
We compared each tool using its own pricing page and feature pages, checked in October 2026. We also read the top-ranking reviews of commission tracking software to find stale prices and missing fees. We looked at the price for a real team, minimums, billing terms, setup and connector fees, integrations and trials. We did not run our own commission calculation tests, and feature claims come from the vendors. No vendor pays to be listed. Read our editorial policy to learn more.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best commission tracking software for small businesses?
QuotaPath is the best fit for most small businesses. Growth costs $35 per user a month plus a $525 platform fee that covers your first 5 users and setup. If you want to avoid a yearly contract, Sales Cookie costs $40 per user a month, billed monthly, and you can cancel anytime.
Is there free commission tracking software?
None of our 8 picks has a free plan. QuotaPath and Sales Cookie both offer 14-day free trials. If you have only a few reps with simple rules, a shared spreadsheet may do for now. Once you add tiers, splits or clawbacks, a paid tool saves time and cuts errors.
How much does sales commission software cost?
Published prices run from $10 per payee a month at Core Commissions to $75 per user a month for Salesforce Spiff. QuotaPath adds a $525 monthly platform fee. For 15 reps, that is about $1,800 to $15,600 a year before setup fees. CaptivateIQ, Everstage and Xactly only give quotes.
How much does Salesforce Spiff cost?
Salesforce Spiff costs $75 per user a month, billed yearly. Each extra connector to a system outside Salesforce costs $250 a month, and premium support costs 30% of your net price. Salesforce does not offer a free trial, and you can buy Spiff even if you don’t use Sales Cloud.
Can I track commissions in Excel instead?
Yes, and many small teams start there. But spreadsheets break when plans get tiers, splits or mid-year changes, and reps can’t see their own numbers in real time. Once you spend more than a day each pay period fixing formulas, commission software is usually worth the cost.
Does commission software work with HubSpot?
Yes, several do. QuotaPath lists HubSpot on its Growth plan, along with Salesforce, Zoho and Pipedrive. CaptivateIQ says it integrates with HubSpot, Salesforce, NetSuite and Workday. Check that your plan includes the connector you need, since some tools charge extra for them.
How long does it take to set up commission software?
It depends on your plans and data. Everstage says you can go live in 4 to 6 weeks. Simpler tools like QuotaPath and Sales Cookie include setup help, and Sales Cookie configures your first plan for free. Enterprise tools with many plans and data sources can take longer.
What is the difference between commission tracking and ICM software?
They are mostly the same thing. ICM stands for incentive compensation management, the term bigger vendors like Xactly and Salesforce use. Commission tracking software is the plain name. Both calculate what reps earn, show them statements and send payout data to payroll.
